The Feeling

I'm sure they are really cool blokes and loved by many, But i just don't get this band at all. I heard them today in session on Radio Two and they can play which is a bonus these days, But they make Take That sound like The Sex Pistols, Never mind the Bollocks? Have The Feeling got any?

I love the feeling! I still play their old album a lot, and their new single 'I thought it was over' is so catchy!

I feel some local affinity to them, as a Sussex band, and I did like "Fill My Little World" and (especially) "Love It When You Call", but the first album was underwhelming overall. I have played it perhaps twice. I doubt I will be buying the next, to be honest.

"I thought it was over" surprised me a lot to say the least. I was listening to some bad local radio station the other week and when dave doubledecks said "that's the feeling's new song" I thought I was imagining things.

I think it's a good change in sound to be honest - reminds me a bit of an old 70s number. It's the modern day equivalent of some of the 70s MOR bands edging into disco.

As for their earlier material, some of the singles weren't too bad but I listened to the album and none of the album tracks stood out.

I have a habit of buying albums for just one song so have a huge amount of crap albums and I always think I have to get my moneys worth!! So as I work in an office by myself I have a cd player and I take albums into work that I just cant get into and listern to them there. The Feelings album is one such album I took it into work to listern to and now I love it I play it all the time I even put it on my Ipod as I cant get some of the songs out my head.

However Im not liking the new song!

I just saw them live on TV the other night. I think they're really great performers and great songwriters. they have a great energy as a band and you can tell that they really love what they do! There's a humbleness about them that I quite like.

I heard this last week on GMTV and I just thought - This is going to be one of those songs that the public will love for a while, the local radio (or channel 9 as I call it) will blast this up 25 times a day and will continue to do so, even when 4 or 5 months down the line the public will already be fed up with it - Just like with Chasing Cars.

A bit too pop music for me!
I didn't really have an opinion on them though until I saw two of the band on TV on Sunday morning and I couldn't believe that two men would choose to have such stupid haircuts. Now though I think they are a bunch of bouffant haired pra*s.

Unoffensive but unexciting.

EDIT: girlfrommars - love the username and the song
