How do i replace the CITV on LCN 75?

Can any one tell me the simplest way to replace the CITV on LCN 75 (no programmes) with the one on LCN 800, which does have programmes? Surely a complete re-scan can be avoided?

This is a major bugbear I have with the Panasonic machines. You would have thought that a leading electrical supplier could have sorted this problem before now. All the cheaper manufacturers seem to be able to provide a manual tune and channel edit function which is easy to use and does not require a complete rescan or loses all tuning and programme timer settings.

I therefore only ever retune when it's absolutely necessary. Since I don't watch CITV I'm not retuning until something comes along which forces me to do so. There was an update scheduled for my machine recently (now pulled) that would also have forced a retune.

Hi comic

I'm puzzled. Why would the update have forced you to retune?

You have not said which machine is involved... but a known problem of Freeview tuners is holding on to false station data... and the best way of emptying this out is to scan with no aerial connected so that all station locations are properly erased.

That should hopefully prevent the station you want being thrown up into the 800 placeholder locations... and it should find its right location.

It cannot go there at the moment because something is in its place which needs cleaning out.

Sorry, it's the EX-75. And the problem is, if I do a rescan, I lose all channels, including analogue RTEs. Also, profiles. A real nuisance.

I was under the impression that the Pannys reset and retuned after installing an update.

Apparently not!
