Maybe if we all keep contacting Five asking where the playback data is (Eg AR / SL) then maybe they will get the message eventually!

E-Mail from five re Series Link and AR

Quote:
“Dear Darren

Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding Freeview.

With regards to Recording Accuracy, which we know as Real Time Triggers
we have to advise you that there are no plans for this at present. We do
plan to deploy Series Recording in late summer, subject to software
development for our Scheduling system.

If there is anything further we can help you with, please do not
hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your interest in Five.

Yours sincerely

Thats good news.
When I emailed them a while ago I got a reply saying they had no plans for either.
So this is definately good news even if we do have to wait until late summer for seriel link.

Is it?

Without accurate record, you need to pad, and with padding you lose series link.

On Wednesday night, CSI NY on Five was immediately followed by Without a Trace on Five US (one storyline spanned both shows). I changed channels to see that WaT was just starting so I pressed the record button. Had I not noticed that the previous programme was still showing in the guide, I would have recorded just 90 seconds. These 90 seconds would have been missed from a scheduled recording without padding.
