Does anyone know if George Michael is serious about quitting the music industry? I remember George was talking about making music over the internet in future but then a year later on Parkinson he was talking about maybe quitting music altogether.
George is prone for changing his mind quite often and I think he once said he would quit music back when he had his troubles with Sony in the 90's but then he came back with a vengeance and released 'Older' in 1996 which was one of his best albums.
But this time though after his 25 Live tour recently, I think this time he may be seriously considering quitting.
Has anyone heard anything about George Michael retiring?

On Parkinson he said he was thinking about quitting the UK, not quitting music. He said he didn't really like the idea of releasing songs anymore as he'd have to compete with reality stars etc and he doesn't feel that he has to prove anything so any future releases will probably be released online only. However George is always changing his ming isn't he. He'll be back with an album soon and hopefully he'll release the 25live tour on DVD!

That would be brilliant to see the 25 Live tour on DVD. He definately should release this, it would be great to see.
There were wild internet rumours last year that George may be making an album with old Wham! partner Andrew Ridgley, but this was false I think, there is no way George would ever re-form Wham! it would probably be a mistake if he did.

Yes George has a great voice. There was talk on the internet though (I can't remember what site it was) that George's voice is getting slightly weaker as he's getting older, but if his voice is anything to by from the 25 live tour, he's still in very good form.

I think he just can't be arsed to do anything. That's what happens to people that smoke too much dope!

HMV have him releasing an album on the 3rd March called Faith.

No idea what that's all about, but it's listed right enough as a future pop album

I heard that he contracted some venereal disease and is currently recuperating. No idea what this could be

He's been in the new American series Eli Stone. The main character played by Jonny lee Miller has a brain aneuryism and he gets visions, a couple of which so far have been of George singing Faith and Freedom. I think the title of each show is the title of a GM song.

Eli Stone is on Thursdays, immediately after the new series of Lost. Maybe that has raised his profile a little. Maybe Faith is the album of songs from the series?

Just had a look and it's a vinyl release. Its probably just a re-release of the album from just over 20 years ago.

Fingers crossed. I'm also hoping that this year sees the retirement of Elton John and Annie Lennox. I think I may be being a little greedy though.
