Sink and drain unblocker.
The one I used once comes in 1 ltr orange coloured bottles, only 1 at the pound shops, just pour the whole lot over the plughole and leave it overnight, next morning run the hot water and your blocked plughole is history.

Oooodles of Fairy liquid and boiling water from the kettle....works for me in an emergency....or even just the boiling water from the kettle sometimes works to shift the gunge!

Wire coat hanger bent to have a little hook on the end???

Or wire coat hanger with blu tack on the end.....stab the lid with the coat hanger...the lid sticks and lift out???

Another way if you don't like using chemicals.
Get a crochet hook, stick the end down the plughole, twist it round a few times then all the pubic hairs and of course other hair gets tangled up on It and you just pull it out, put It in a plaggy bag and present it to your OH and say, "I believe these are yours"

Oooo if it's just hair in the plug hole...use a cotton bud if you haven't got a crochet hook....it is not a pleasant job though!

It's horrible I know!! Have to do mine quite a lot when the bath won't empty. I have a bit of copper electrical wire which is quite thin and fits down the plughole quite nicely.

When my kitchen sink got blocked I tried everything, it got full of rice and other crap and the pipe goes behind the dishwasher and into the wall. I tried bleach, some stuff made for unblocking drains, a plunger, and a coat hanger. In the end I used the pipe from the hoover and held my hand over the overflow whilst blowing down the pipe really hard.

I used soda crystals when my sink was bocked but they didn't have a great effect so I poured half a bottle of domestos into the plughole and left it overnight. That did the trick!

Isn't there a film where a girl pulled and pulled all the hairs out the drain, they wouldn't stop coming and then eventually clinging on to the end of all these clumped hairs was a little vicious monster.

So be careful!

If it's pushy up n down plug...you should be able to pull it out and retrieve the 'death wish' lid!

Sorry I found this quite funny....sounds like my house!
