Failed Recording after Failed Recording
mcin

Every recording made tonight on my 9200T has the little red cross symbol next to it - the symbol for a recording that could not be made because of a conflict. However, my major problem is that there was no conflict in any of the recordings. When I attempted to play the recording I got a message saying that there had been a conflict and did I wish to delete the programme! This is seriously worrying and I think I might be downgrading to .15. Humax need to fix the bugs in this software very quickly.

If it was a software bug it would have happened to you before this evening and the forum would be full of users reporting the same thing. Sounds like a hardware failure. Do your old recordings play OK? Try a manual recording. If its out of warranty might be worth trying a new hard drive as thats the likeliest bit to fail.

I would be inclinde to reformat (if you can) before fitting a new drive

It's still in warranty - will phone Humax in the morning. That's really quite annoying.

Humax will say "do a default setting" before they take it back - patronising I know, but make sure you do that before you call.

I've been having this exact same problem ever since the s/w upgrade in January. Some programmes are just not being recorded due to some mythical confilct - even though nothing else is being recorded at the same time. Everything was fine before the sw upgrade and I only bought it around October/November.

mcin - please post here if you find anything out, I'll do likewise.

I'm beginning to think this may actually be a case of the wrong error message being displayed. I had a look at my disk usage and found the hard disk to be pretty near full. (doh!)

Since deleting a few programmes I haven't seen the spurious error message about conflicting reservations. Fingers crossed.

I get a similar problem, which I can reproduce at will. Set a program to be recorded, not using series link just a normal recording. Start watching the program just before the one set to record. Now press the record button to do an instant record. Wait untill the second program has started and check the recorded program list. The program which had been reserved for recording did not record, you get the confilct message. If you look at the times in the recorded program list, the reserved program tried to start recording just befor the instant record program ended probably due to the broadcaster sending a start signal before the scheduled start time. I presume it did not try and use the second tuner but the same tuner as the instant record and thus the conflict. I did not get the same problem with the previous version of the software.
