Nush is the Vinokourov of BB, because, erm, she looks exactly like him !!

Have you ever seen them in the same race ? No
”

Big difference being, Nush is winning nothing .....

about Beloki .....

Even Kraftwerk have released a 2003 version of that old classic 'Tour de France' and it's got a new entry in the Top 20.

Check if you don't believe me:- http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/top40/index.shtml

See.
”

Sadly, it's not quite as good as the original.

Um, on topic, a bit like BB4?

Thinking back to that Alan Partridge sketch, about the Motorcyclist flying past the peloton, reminds me of Ray and his reaction to Jon being back in the house and not being able to nominate him.

It's just not fare is it Ray

She'd look like a Canary in one of those Yellow Jerseys.

Yes, poor old Beloki. he had a good chance of winning this year or at least making it neck and neck all the way with Lance.

Well, we now know that Jon is a Norwich City supporter. I wonder if his fanatasy about Nush involves a Canaries Shirt, a la David Mellor

Rest day tomorrow

Time for bit of lolling around and sunbathing, nothing going on

Same thing for Le Tour !!

A little while back Jon said that he was a great believer in supporting the football team near to where you live................He lives in Staines, Middlesex.

Well done Chrissie.

Yep be on the Champs Elysee and watch them come in - magic

I don't have sat tv otherwise I'd watch 'live' every chance I got

BB is getting a bit better tho'

MG
”

I do watch it live and sadly David Duffield on B.Eurosport drives me up the wall ! He's the Alan Partridge of cycling commentory.

The ITV2 coverage is far superior.

The Alpe D'Huez stage was a million times more exciting than any BB episode.....

Aren't his parents from Norwich? Normally, of course, he'd be a ManU supporter if he's from Middlesex.

Er, what he actually said was he believes that people should support their local team; he was brought up in Norwich, of course.

Has Jon lost the plot - like David Millar did by misreading the stage profile?????

His involvement in the house is all promise and no delivery - bit like Ulrich I s'pose

I've followed "Duffers" on Eurosport since 93 and would agree he pre-dates Alan Partridge but when you've taken the day off to "bury your grandmother" on an 8 hr mountain stage there's something calming about his recounting of the 250 different cheeses of France and the gastronomic delights of the previous evening (especially with the weather we're having). I get it in the neck from non cycling fans , you know , paint drying , plank warping but has anybody sat through 8 hrs of BB4? imagine that with Marcus on the mike !

And as for our Le Tour/BB analogies (just to keep Beth happy):

Scott is the Ulrich of BB - means well - tries hard - but doesn't set the road on fire.

MG

(Who loves this thread) [/b]”

Well Ulrich HAS set the road on fire today - where does that leave us? - cos that sure AINT Scott - is he even WARM ?

Well I`ve been watching the golf, and Scott won`t make the cut this weekend. He`s 36 over par thanks to a string of bogeys!

Ray has got to be the Tyler Hamilton of BB4
He came to grief very early on and keeps coming back on track.

Rays disability is well above the collarbone but he is still in there with a good chance if he doesnt completely crash out on one of his descents

God help us if Endemol ever take over the Society for the Tour de France

Just imagine it

Nine weeks on the flat.

Individual TTs lasting six minutes, with a commercial break in the middle.

Riders allowed to stop along the way to sunbathe and read books.

A huge surprise twist at the end of every stage - there's a room by the finish line where they can go and get a beer. Eurosport running viewer text polls every day asking what the beer tent will be like today ( answer err, a beer tent ).

DS forum split down the middle between the self-annointed Ulrikas and Armstrongs Angels

Anyone think of other "improvements" that Endemol's participation could bring ?

I think they would have to award stabilisers to riders who had participated fully in the previous nights party for health and safety reasons.
riders such as cameron would of course not need such an aid -
but Big Brother would insist that unless riders get plastered in the cause of true entertainment they would have to go along on two wheels as usual.

Tonight's Task!!!

The HMs have to work out which is the front of the bike!!!

CHRISSIE - don't mention Tyler Hamilton in the same breath as that Golum Ray. Ray isn't fit to pick up Tyler's discarded water bottle off the road.

Intrigued now about Ulrich cos unlike you people I don't have satellite so I have to record the ITV1 things at 1 or 2am and watch it the next night. Intrigued.... I am!!!

BB limps slowly and painfully to its end - will it NEVER die!!!!!

David Duffield - has he given up Bargain Hunt then?

Jeez Robert Millar - what a character he was. A Brit who could come fourth and win the Polka Dot against the mighty Herrera. Can't remember whether Sean won the Points 3 or 4 times but he was a helluva rider too.

If the 170+ riders in Le Tour rode over the remaining 4 nerds in the House who do you think would die first and why?

sorry MG - I dont know what I was thinking of - I suppose I was trying a feeble attempt to make a link with BB.

Can't tell you about Ulrich - it will spoil the plot

RAY would definitely die first as he would not lie down quietly and hope for the best like SCOTT
but would keep on getting up and swearing and pushing riders off their bikes and getting knocked down again.
CAMERON would pretend to worry in case any of the riders fell off after hitting him and of course would have his bible to cover his head
STEPH - well all the riders would love her and avoid her of course

If Justine lay down in the road she'd be classified as a Category Three climb

Also (im)patiently awaiting the end.

I'm not so sure - small, spikey animals do not fare well on the roads around here .....
