Which Channels are "good" @ Series Linking?

Sorry, Gonzo, should've realised!

I'm trying to collate many instances of missed starts on AR + SL settings of the Hummy to prove a theory that Series Linking kills Accurate Record.

In respect Coronation street. I record all the evening episodes on my Vestel PVR and Accurate Recording work extremely well (Hannington transmitter).

No, because the quality of the EPG is such that any changes are spotted in time. As avid Corrie fans I can honestly say that in 7 years of using Tivo it never failed once to notice that Corrie had been moved for footie or some such. This is why I have banged the drum for Tivo so irritatingly loudly. I have been accustomed this whole millennium (alright, that's only 8 years) to a true "set and forget" style of TV recording where I literally never look at program listings. I have replaced Tivo with two dual tuner devices doing everything in parallel Humax and V+) because neither one really cuts the mustard and I want belt and braces to make sure I get all of every program I record. Humax is acceptable for navigation (although could be a lot better), but V+ is the only way I can guarantee to get complete recordings (Series Link + padding) but its navigation is lousy.

When you say, works extremely well, do you mean it starts no later than the beginning of the credits, or do you mean it starts a few seconds in but you consider that satisfactory. If you mean the former then there is obviously a fault with the way Humax works. Every time Humax starts Corrie late, albeit only a few seconds, I get this scowl from my wife because I keep telling her that Tivo has to go to make way for this "21st century technology".

You could always replace the wife with some 21st century technology too

It almost always starts during the Theme Tune but not exactly at the same point. I would define "extremely well" if it reliably detects deviations from sheduled starts times and starts at the point intended by the broadcaster within a few seconds. Of course if the broadcaster decides to add adverts at the start of recordings (as proposed by ITV) I would not like that but I would not blame that on the PVR. I would rather sacrifice a few seconds of programme rather than depend on padding.

My Thomson DTI6300 quite happily records Fifth Gear on Five using series link

Well it would remove the paddding normally present due to the adverts at the end of the programme not being part of the current recording but being added before the start of the next programme.

I have yet to see the recording of the second Corro on Mondays and Fridays start on time with Accurate-Recording in charge. There is almost no introduction to these episodes so there is no tolerance for a late start signal.
