The girl's birth name is Lennon Murphy, so she is using her real name!!!!
Isn't Ms Ono overreacting a bit?

I'm not surprised Chita, from what I've seen over the years Yoko's pretty good at alienating others.

I'm just hoping that the young girl gets some positive publicity out of this.
I mean, she's using her own name! I'm gobsmacked.
But maybe people who would not otherwise have heard her will give her a sympathetic listen and maybe buy some stuff.
So I hope that something good comes of it.

It may do - but what a shame that Yoko, who's benefitted from the the music business, sees fit to act like this towards others in a less fortunate position than her.

I agree. I mean what does she hope to gain from this legal action?
She doesn't need money.
The girl doesn't seem to be casting a cloud over John Lennon's name, and she seems cool to me, so why, Yoko? Why?

It's a magical mystery to me.

Was John Lennon even officially called 'Lennon'?

Jeez, it's not as if he was the only person in the world with that name.

She's a weird little runt (replace r with the 3rd letter of the alphabet).

Imagine [sorry] if this gets to court what the Judge will say??

Yoko, love, go and find something worthwhile to do with your time and money.

Maybe she and Heather Mills can set up a coffee shop or summat?

Yes, that was his actual name. He changed his middle name from Winston to Ono as well.

I know his surname was Lennon, but was he just 'Lennon' at any stage? The records I've seen from him say John Lennon.

Someone should sue her for crimes against music. Euurrgh, have you heard her stuff. Her voice is just awful. Basically just talking. Although i do like the remix of Walking on Thin Ice.

Watch the 1968 Stones's 'Rock and Roll Circus'...

Lennon, the Stones and others are doing a great blues/rock and roll jam (might be 'Yer Blues' by the Beatles).

In comes her , and ruins a great rocking song with horrific 'artistic' screeches and wails...

Yoko is crazy, then. Surely she has 0% case here?

Perhaps just a publicity stunt or some random attention craving action?

people are usually entitled to use their own name, providing that there is no attempt to 'pass off' as some other person. didn't sound like that.

anyhow, to the world-class talent that Yoko Ono obviously is, I say "where the fk would you be if you hadn't got it together with John?"
and would you give a shiny shite if you didn't have a financial stake? love is all you need?
so marrying a famous Lennon is OK yet being born one isn't? does Neil Lennon now need your permission to appear on a team sheet? will any great grand-children of John need your say-so to sign their names?

Yoko may have become a Grande Dame by marrying one of the most popular figures of the 1960s, but very few people have any interest in her outside of her as wife of John and her use of the courts to suppress a person who may be talented to protect her income from her late husband is shameful IMO. so much for the idealism of the 1960s.

Funny how love can be - John appeared to love Yoko, even though most of the world apeared to have little or no regard for her and now, rather than be grateful for what he provided, she appears to want to suppress other (talented) people to get what she only got through the irrationality of love. shame on her!

it feels like a flea on a dead dog complaining to me... (remember "I am the Walrus" anybody?)

Nothing surprises me about this evil woman.

I've always thought it was a shame that Mark Chapman wasn't a worse shot and got the wrong person that night.

As for it being the girl's legal name, as if that makes a difference to the idiot. She even expressed contempt at Julian Lennon using the name when he started out. I would have liked to have seen her take that one to court. As far as she's concerned, John only has one son.

I actually feel very sorry for Heather Mills. I can't understand why more people don't see Yoko Ono in that light and why some in the music world actually revere her.

so marrying a famous Lennon is OK yet being born one isn't? does Neil Lennon now need your permission to appear on a team sheet? will any great grand-children of John need your say-so to sign their names?
Did Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit seek permission from Yoko before naming their son? Maybe she should sue them too

Stupid cow.

I still think she should go into business with Heather Mills.
Yoko could treat us all to some of the 'Happenings' she did before she met John Lennon.

Wonder what her 'career' would have been like had there paths not crossed?

I just don't understand why she is so bitter and why she feels the need to launch this action?

Lennon Murphy isn't going to be confused with John Lennon, her music is totally different and she's female.

I hope the Judge throws it out of court a.s.a.p and makes her pay damages to Lennon Murphy for intimating that she was somehow a horrible person for using her birth name.

I wasn't really deeply into the Beatles but I know Yoko alienated a lot of their friends and fans - I can see why if this is an example of her behaviour.

I am gobsmacked.

Maybe she will if he becomes a musician and forms a band.

I think she manipulated and brainwashed John, she was a home wrecker who persued a man she knew was married and had a child. Notice how he was quite a handsome and attractive bloke before he met her and let himself go. She ruined him.

My dad was a teenager in the 60's and he remember that no one could fathom why on earth John left his first wife Cynthia, who was quite pretty, for someone like Yoko, who in the politest term was rather plain

This is so silly really. If John Lennon was alive today he wouldn't give a toss about this.

Just seen on teletext ITV 1 p 139 [1 /6 ] That Yoko has denied trying to stop Murphy from using her own name. She says she doesn't want to stop her doing that, but she does want to prevent her from gaining exclusive rights to use name Lennon as a trademark.

I think that's a bit harsh. I'm no fan of Yoko, but I wouldn't wish what happened to John on anyone.

Yoko is not suing Lennon Murphy to stop her using the name Lennon. What happened is that Lennon Murphy tried to get the exclusive rights to use the name Lennon, which would infringe on John Lennon's estate.
