Should there be a sub-forum for appreciation threads in the XF forum?

This worked in the BB forum.

The appreciation threads take up alot of the page.

What do you think?

Yes there should be , especially since it is now considered obligatory to create one for every single act no matter how well they did in the show. And we now have ones for judges too. God forbid the results of the 5th series , you won't get a thread in edgeways!

Yeh, I reckon it'd be a good idea.

Probably not a bad idea.

I was going to answer no but then I noticed there were 15 different appreciation threads on page 1 alone. So, maybe, lol.

Yes, I think so too

Same

But without the threads though the main forum would be dead.

The ones on the BB forum are almost never on topic though. The X Factor ones at least make some attempt to talk about the act in question and what they are doing rather than waffling on about their pet dodo's digestion problems or exchanging jam recipies all day; the purpose of the thread having been forgotten many years ago. Also the forum would be practically deserted without them.

Some of them appear to have turned into chat threads.

Yes there should be a separate forum.

Chisato Geeste many on here are extremely off topic with many people discussing extremely irrelevant stuff. Maybe the mods should get tougher on Appreciation threads and close them when they go off topic to the extreme , whyich many already have.

Yeah....I think appreciation threads should go somewhere else. Would it facilitate threads that people start post positive things about an event or something that too big for appreciation thread inclusion?

Wouldn't worry, there are much worse things you could be addicted to

Although this forum would be extremely quiet now without the Appreciation Threads, once the show starts again, it will become extremely busy. Then might be a good time to move them to a separate forum.

I think thats a bit harsh / Draconian....

The threads tend to be just not about the act themseves but a place for their fans to come and get to know other fans also.

To kill of a thread of such size is unthinkable, not to mention unfair to its other contibutors.

More sensible moderation is needed with the apriciation threads.

Obviously I don't mean that just because something else is being discussed the mods should give it the banstick , that way no-one will ever post in most of them! lol

But some of the threads go for pages and pages without that act being discussed so it is pretty pointless to call it an Appreciation thread IMO.

Interesting idea- one I have actually discussed a few months ago.
I think it would be easier for people to navigate discussions and , for who wants just to appreciate, it would be easier to follow their respective threads - in which case, their threads won't be pushed on page 5 or more.

Good idea, I hope it happens.

There's a ridiculous amount of appreciation threads now so I'm all for moving them.

I don't think it's much a deal. I'm mainly one of those who post in several (Leon, Same Difference, Andy, Alisha, Hope, Kimberly and Futureproof. Now Niki) and I don't really think people should "complain" about there being positive appreciation thread's on the main page.

Would you rather there was more thread's which contained the usual Leon VS Rhydian wars?

I say keep things as they are otherwise there would be more 'wars' as LeonFan40 has mentioned.
