I absolutely dread to think what Britain will be like in 10 years time, absolutely dread to think. It just seems like everything is getting worse and worse as the years go by. I'm not saying it never went on before the year 2000, but, I never heard of things being mentioned on the news until the last 6 years. I know there's always been chaos in places, but, I just can't beleive all the stabbings and what have you that's taking place, according to the news anyway. Something tells me that life, when I'm an old man in this world is not going to be very nice......unless a new Government comes in and does a real good shake up, or, unless this government does something drastic to restore my faith in them. I have always been a loyal Labour supporter, but, they are seriously testing my confidence in them right now.

The bible predicts that chaos will reign over the earth before order replaces it. Maybe the gradual introduction of Sharia Law will be the order we are all searching for, and that's why Archbishop Rowan Williams claimed that it's introduction is unavoidable. Intellectuals can predict the furure far better than Joe Bloggs.

It will have a shrinking population which will be kept up with numerous shipments of immigrants.
Oh wait - That is happening already ![]() In 10 years? Hopefully it will have sunk and i'll be long gone =] |

More power from national parliaments will have been transfered to the EU. Britain and the ROI are negotiating the terms of Northern-Ireland being transfered under the control of the ROI. Scotland will still belong to the UK.
Terrorists have once managed to poison people's drinking water, which has resulted in thousands of people being killed. The country will still try to get to terms with the disaster. Commercial aviation has been banned because it is too pollutant. If people want to travel abroad they have to do it by boat/train but especially trains will be twice the speed they are today. |

all of the oldstyle "legendary" actors, singers, entertainers, will be gone, and won't be replaced.
I can't think of any of the modern ones who will pass into such legend. |

In 10 years time I honestly think there will be a large increase in the immigrant populations in this country and, what is more, they will be more and more powerful because of their stable family backgrounds as against the white kids coming from dysfunctional homes. Just look at the recent report about white kids failing in school or, go out yourself on a Saturday night and see what's going on. The white native people will tend to move out but only the more well off will be able to, leaving the poorer, more ignorant ones behind. The future's bright, the future's Asian.

I can see this happening too, it'll take them a while to find out why so many people are falling ill and then after some tests it'll all become obvious, however just how many water supplies will be affected before they come to this conclusion is what I wonder.Quote:

I hope not, unless the trains get really good and serve other cities apart from London. I don't think Commercial aviation will be banned outright though, people North of London will suffer, from the price and time, plus how can you get to North/South America/Australia/Asia/ quickly by boat? Domestic flights and certain European cities from London will be banned or serverly limited (i.e. one a week between the major UK cities for cargo only or something) that I do not doubt. Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin and some other major cities will all be easilly and very quickly served by trains by that time though, at least on thier side of the channel, maybe not on ours! The prices will rocket as oil dwindles, but in 10 years time hopefully they will have come up with another way to power them. I mean the planes coming out now are the "greenest" yet, and Boeing are working on Hydrogen planes, gotten to the stage of small propeller aircraft at the moment, or so I saw on the Discover Channel last week! I'll be very worried if we have to start applying for visas/permission to leave the country or start applying for permission from the Government to allow foreign friends or family to visit, after some future PM decides that is what's best to counter act terrorism. I honestly think it's perhaps more than 10 years away, but I do think it'll happen inside my lifetime, the way we're going. Once this is even suggested or propsed by anyone in Westminster, I'm off and never coming back! As for immigration. It'll dwindle in a few years and as others have predicted, it'll shift back Eastwards, with British people moving to the likes of Poland, Bulgaria, Romania and newer EU members like Moldova, Ukraine, Turkey and Belarus (very long shot, but might happen). As thier economies grow under the Euro and tourism, especially property markets, they'll start having a demand for more workers. Hopefully I'll be elsewhere before any of is happens though. |

With 5 million economic migrants having arrived and 3 million taxpayers having left, the government of the day will not be able to fund any meaningful public spending. Education, healthcare, the military and policing will all cease to operate.
The country will be effectively bankrupt. |

Aren't we supposed to be under-water by that time? Well the remainding land will be Yob infested, Criminal led wasteland.
Or we'll be turned into one giant prison to relieve the world of their prison overcrowding. (Think escape from New York, or Johnny English) |

I think in 10 years time everything will be touch screen. Phones will follow the iPhone idea and will include a TV and computers will all be touch screen.
*The Internet will be super fast due to major upgrades on the lines. *You will get charged for NHS treatment if you are drunk. *Less people will smoke. *CD's and DVD's will become collectable items. *Every house hold will have a LCD HD TV. *Environmentally friendly cars will be in high production numbers as people search for alternative fuels. Petrol costs will be at £2.50 a litre and only the rich can afford cars. Less off people will go for small mini cars. *Record numbers of people will be moving to Spain and other counties. *Supermarkets will have done the corner shops out of business, every village and town will have a large ASDA superstore. *Every home will be digital and analogue will have been turned off for 8 years. *Call centres will become 100% automated voices and most check outs in supermarkets will become 'self checks' to reduce staff numbers. |

I don't mind the Poles, at least they work hard unlike those lazy brazilians.
Jamaicans also work at a very slow pace too. So it you are an employer, try to engage people from cold climate countries rather than hot. This explains why the Poles and Russians are so very industrious and energetic. It's all to do with body chemicals.

I have never heard so many people saying that they intend to leave this country - and not only on this web-site.
I, and my wife, shall be retired within ten years and, hopefully, shall be able to emigrate at that time. I sincerely hope that there will be no restrictions on emigration, as has been suggested, and that we shall still be in the EU and, hence, entitled to live in other EU countries. Sadly, this country is falling apart - and all at our own hands. Health care, transport, the penal system and, in fact, the whole infrastructure are steadily becoming a complete mess. Education (my own profession) is being chopped and changed on an almost daily basis, undoubtedly for political reasons: those who are doing this are obviously blissfully unaware that the lack of any stability here is to the detriment of learning. Our leaders are now accomplishing what Napoleon and Hitler could not. When I was younger - perhaps prior to the late 1980s - I was genuinely proud to be British. I do remember the elation of our success in the Falklands campaign, for example. Now, I am sorry to say, I feel rather embarrassed! John |

Petrol will be 50p a litre but all cars will be electric
Chickens will be all free range but have two heads and the size of cows due to genetic intervention Most towns and cities will have flood defenses but their will still be drought warnings. We'll have British on the Moon according to some reports today and I'm volunteering

We'll all be ruled by the damn, DIRTY APES!!
![]() Anyhoo, it's generally considered a bad idea to simply extrapolate from the current regretable situation in this country. In 1992 with the political powerhouse John Major at the helm I'm sure many people would not in a million years been able to predict what 2002 would be like. The beginning of the end in terms of freedom and stuff. After years of a deranged dictator a weak and feeble man took over. Although probably not evil as such, John "Gordon" Major was not the most gifted of politicians by a long way. Who knew then that history would one day repeat itself? Rapid change can take place, very easily. To my eyes the EU is now mostly supported by the politicians of member states, not the actual citizens. Can it survive if those politicians are kicked out of power in member states? CCTV, speed cameras and ASBOs are increasingly being seen as just moving the problem somewhere else. It takes time for the general public to see through a political party, Thatcher was for a time incredibly loved, when she left it was as a traitor of the people. Things can only get better, before they get worse again. |

Something like demolition man(if anyone has watched it, they will know what I mean) im predicting. The way the country is going, I have a feeling that one government will come into power that will change the country for the better. There will be riots and the destruction of british culture before it happens I think.
