Pretty bad ratings so far about 5 million for the last 2 episodes.

Totally deserved this is not even a patch on bb8 bb6 or bb7

Not true. The launch got 0.7 less viewers than the BB8 launch. So there was hardly anything in it. Seeing as it was against American Idol too, it faired pretty good.

Episode 1 got 7.33million
Episode 2 got 5.81million

Yeah, it doesn't mean the first episode was so bad they turned off, American Idol was back on. So, I think it's quite good.

How can you have already decided that it's not a patch on previous seasons? In my experience it usually takes 2 or 3 weeks to really get things going!

People are also used to seeing Big Brother in the Summer - it's first ever Winter one.

True but you can usually tell which housemates are appealing, this year they are all aresholes and don't seem to be playing the game properly.

They haven't had a chance to play the game properly (well, those without the Feeds haven't had to the chance to see it yet) so how can you say that? There has been a total of 2 hours seen by the public.

Against American Idol 5m is good. Idol had 24 million on Wednesday

IMO, this season will always be better than last years, because there is no America's Choice. I'd say this season is off to a good start.

Exactly, most people thought it would get slaughtered up against American Idol.

After all, American Idol is huge and they are both aimed at the same audience.

Its doing fine. It doesn't really matter what the ratings are - it has been picked up for another full season already.

Although, I have a feeling this one might be 6 weeks long. It would fit the format perfectly and be off air just in time for new episodes of dramas and comedies being ready.

Oh I'm not complaining about ratings, I think they did great against Idol. And you will see from my comments in other threads I think the season kicked off good with lots of tension and arguments but from watching live feed none of them seem good game players, a lot of them are focused on sex too much while others are constantly at each others throats bringing everything out in the open.

I don't see after 9 days anyone that is likable as a player, hey, it may change and I hope it does but there doesn't seem to be any Alisons, Wills, Nicoles, Danielles, Janelles, James' in there for example. Obviously I'm not expecting carbon copies of those housemates but I would like people to play the game smartly and strategically, not all over the place like these fools.

But it's harder to play well when you have a partner to take into consideration. You could both have conflicting ideas in terms of strategy. Maybe if they're split up we'll see the great strategists emerge?

I guess you haven't been keeping up with the live feed then.

Oh, I didn't realise all this had happened. I've only been able to watch the first day of live feed (Day 5) and the first After Dark. It's hard to keep up with live, After Dark, the weekly episodes and Survivor at the same time lol. I may have to cut down, even though I don't want to and it'll only last one or two days lol

Regardless of whether what you stated is true or not, I agree with what's been written already; a new start time and going up against American Idol could easily explain any difference in numbers.

I happen to feel this way every year, which is why I never watch the last two or three episodes.

This season has gotten off to a rocky start I will admit that. Here is a small recap based on facts from Nelison about the ratings.

Tuesday Night:
Big Brother was up against American Idol (Fox), The Biggest Loser (NBC), According to Jim (ABC), and One Tree Hill (CW).

In the 9:00 PM hour, AI won hands down with 29.87m viewers, The Biggest Loser came in second with 7.47m viewers, Big Brother 9 was third with 7.33m, According to Jim averaged 4.92 for the hour, and One Tree Hill was fifth with 3.21m viewers.

Tuesday wasn't a bad night considering that The Biggest Loser only had .14 more viewers. Although Big Brother did lose 4.39m viewers from an NCSI repeat.

Wednesday Night:
Similar story, Big Brother was up against American Idol (Fox), Deal or No Deal (NBC), Wife Swap (ABC), and America's Next Top Model (Clip show 2) (CW).

In the 8:00 PM hour AI won with 24.59m viewers, Deal or No Deal was in second with 10.99m viewers, Big Brother was third with 5.88m viewers (a drop from Tuesday), Wife Swap was fourth with 5.31m viewers and ANTM was fifth with 1.42m viewers.

(Don't worry Top Model fans I am sure the show will bounce up to CW glory when Cycle 10 begins)

All in all Wednesday could be taken as both good or bad. It made CBS third and beat out Wife Swap, but it did lose 1.45m viewers from Tuesday. I think Wednesdays will be better when the show is live then.

Don't worry, Redmond just thinks he is a BB USA expert.
