Orange unlimited texts reward
Coz21
15-02-2008
How do you know if you are on Speak Easy with unlimited texts reward or Speak Easy with unlimited credit reward? On my old Orange phone, I was getting 300 free texts if I topped up by £10 a month, but I've just got a new phone on Orange and registered to Speak Easy. I don't know if it gave me the unlimited credit or texts, though. I got the phone with £10 credit already on it and I've just topped up by £10 again, but I'm paying for my texts. Do I have to wait 72 hours before I'm entitled to them?

Register for the bonus you want by dialling 450. Select options 1, 2 & 3

Do you have to speak to someone to do that? If so, what time can you phone?

It's an automated service.

Do you press 1 for 'top up' or 3 for 'anything else'? Then what?

Actually I may have got that the wrong way round. Try options 3, 2 then 1.

Thank you, I've done it now. Now all I have to do is figure out what my 4 digit number is for the online services.

I did 3 then 2. But I'm still paying. Maybe I will have to top up again or wait 72 hours. If I'm still paying tomorrow I'll just top up again anyway.

why not just ring orange and speak to someone instead of risking it. I don't see why you keep topping up to get free texts, won't be worth it in the end!

I wasn't on this plan to start with like i thought. When I did the 450 thing, they said i was on the speak easy plan and i changed to speak easy with unlimited texts, so it should be ok either when i top up again or in 72 hours.

Right, well 72 hours.... so why top up tomorrow? Wait 3 days.

Cos if i have to top up again before i'm entitled to the free texts, then i'll have wasted the next 72 hours worth of credit waiting for it. I will make use of the extra credit i put on it, it's just like doing it now instead of next month.

That's not the plan I wanted. I think I may have selected the wrong one. I wanted the one I had on my old phone where you get 300 free texts if you top up by £10. That £10 lasted me about 6 weeks with the 300 free texts, so I'm not topping up by £30 every month. I've got a text from Orange telling me to top up by another £10 (£30 altogether) by March 15th and I'm still paying for the texts.

That was an older tariff I think, call customer services and ask if it is still available on the system to swap over to

If it was still available, they would have it as an option though, wouldn't they? Anyway, I topped up another £10 today and I'm now getting free texts, so now I'll see if I still get them next month after topping up by £10. If not, I know I'll have to top up by £30.

Can I just ask, why didn't you keep your old SIM card and use that in your new phone? You would have had the same number, same tariff, kept your credit, kept your numbers, kept your texts (as long as they were saved to the SIM) and wouldn't have had all this messing about...

If you'd have rung Orange, they'd have given you the free texts there and then, and you wouldn't have needed to top up over and over trying to test something that might not even work.

Running Water what your suggesting can indeed be done but it often causes the customer to miss out on their upgrade reward and nearly always means they will need the WAP and MMS settings being sent out also the IMEI on record would be wrong which complicates blacklisting if needed.

As of the 28th of Jan the unlimited version of text trigger ended so if you have been on the wrong tarrif your have to go onto the version were your max amount of texts would be 1000. When a customer gets a new phone always phone customer services declare you have an existing number with orange that you wish to keep. The CSR would then put it through as an upgrade meaning that your new sim would overwrite the old and your new IMEi would overwrite the old allowing you to keep your account. The great thing about doing this means its a nice clean upgrade less chance of complications and most importantly depending on your average spend you may be eniitled to an upgrade reward which means extra credit for 6 months.

I was going to use my old Sim in my new phone, but I had to use the new Sim for the 3G to work. My old phone wasn't 3G.

Anyway, it's all sorted now. I got a text today saying I have 600 free texts, lol. That will be because I topped up £20 altogether. I should have just been patient. So it looks like I can still top up by £10 and get 300 free texts afterall.

Thanks for your help everyone.
