Basshunter - Now You're Gone: Love it or Loathe it?
I apologise if there has already been a thread about this, but I did a quick search and couldn't find one.
So, Now You're Gone by Basshunter has come under criticism by some - e.g. Chris Moyles, but lots of people really like it. What's your take on it... do you love it or loathe it? |

It has some good musical arrangements but this silly "Now You're Gone" periodicly woven into it,rather ruins a jolly aural pleasure.

Loathe.
It's outdated chavvy crap... rhyming 'Gone' with 'Strong'... It will never find its way on to my ipod and when it comes on in a club I go outside with the smokers. |

I prefer the original, Swedish version 'Boten Anna'...even though I have no idea what he's singing (apparently something to do with a female 'chatbot' whos kicked him out of a room and banned him, and he's upset about it or something). They're pretty much the same song, but I'm pretty used to 'Boten Anna' now, been listening to it for the past year or so. Hate the 'lyrics' to Now You're Gone, they're cringeworthy.

It's better than "Rockstar" by Nickelback anyway!

Its ****ing shite aimed at moronic 14 year old chavs who put it on their mobiles and annoy everyone else by playing it on public transport. Only a person with an IQ in single figures could purchase such dross.
It sounds at least ten years out of date, Im all for retro but that takes the piss. Also the lyrics are dirge that a seven year old could have written. Thank god for Nickleback (I never thought I'd hear myself say that). |

Everytime I listen to it, I feel like it's 2003 again.
And that's a bad thing. |

Chavvy shit. If this is number one on my eighteenth birthday, I will be pretty annoyed.

At first I hated it. It sounded dated and repetitive, but I've got to admit that after hearing it more often, it isn't as bad as I instinctively assumed. It's just not music I would choose to listen to, but I'm not offended by its success. In fact, I'm beginning to enjoy how much it has been p*ssing off some people, such as Chris Moyles and hearing the utter disdain in Jo Wiley's voice was hilarious.
I may also have warmed to it as it's nothing like as dreadful as the H2O song, which isn't even in tune! That sounds like it was recorded for a laugh by a couple of pals who'd had a few too many alco-pops. |

It's about how on chatroom a user called Anna comes on as a moderator. He thinks it's one of those chatbots, not a real person so he talks to it like it is, until he finds out Anna is actually a real girl. |

I like it. Finally a decent original dance tune that finally puts Cascada in her place.

I don't love it nor loathe it. It's just too dull to inspire those kinds of feelings within me.
It's just a basic dun dun beat, it does a tune, then that's it. Nothing interesting about it. Another basic, run of the mill, formula by numbers, dance single. If you like that sort of thing then it does it's job. |
