Aussie Michael is the best so far. Glad Brooke White got through, she's very pretty

He's going to win! It's an excellent line up. I also like the Hernandez guy. A male winner this year?

Kyle was lovely, he sang beautifully too. He should have gone through.

Think this years top 24 are good apart from Daniel Noriega who seems to be very in love with himself.

Thank goodness Cat Deeley is not adding her inane words of wisdom this year. People power does work!

I'll second that. I'm also pleased to see that they ended the system of culling virtually everyone on the first day and gave people a second chance instead.

Michael used to be lead singer of a band called The Rising, you can listen to some of their songs on their myspace. http://www.myspace.com/therisingband

quick question when there were the two girls left Cardin and Joanne, Simon said
"This is the point when I change my mind," ...does this mean, he now wanted Cardin in the top 24?

I thought that, but theres quite a lot of Cardin-esque singers in it this year, so Joanne is the better bet I think.

Is it just me or does that woman in the pizza sponsor ad that sings "Love Machine" then goes "Is that barbecue chicken...woaahhh!" REALLY annoying!?

I wasn't at all surprised when Joanne was chosen - they have plenty of beautiful thin girls so why not pick the beautiful plus size girl?

Was anyone else disappointed that we didn't see more than glimpses of the really gorgeous mixed race guy with long hair from earlier in the auditions? Or am I the only one who remembers him?

Totally. And those pizzas look awful anyway. Dreadful ads for AI.

I remember him well! Was gutted when he went out - we just saw him walking off the stage I think.

I loved the way they did it this year, and I think they weeded out the dodgy ones better as a result. What had they all been eating to give them green/black tongues though!

Not sure who my favourites are yet.... I liked Carly. I'd have liked Cardin to go through instead of the rocker nurse, but I guess Cardin and Carly were similar. Not sure which of the blokes I like yet.

I really liked Cardin to, and the lad who wore the tie.. Im not good with names

When it came down to the final two boys though I was a bit upset as I liked both of them!!

Loving Michael - not sure if the viewing public would want to see an Aussie winning American Idol, but we'll see. He has a great voice, from what little we've seen seems like a nice guy,and is rather good looking too. So he gets my (hypothetical) vote so far.

I was upset that Josiah din't make it My mum wanted to adopt him. I hope he's ok and doing alright from the exposure the show has given him.

I am not very impressed witht he guys line up at all, just as last year.I'm just glad that the arrogant Josiah didn't make it through,or it would be even worse.

Several of the women are similar to each other (Irish girl and biker goth chick for instance),but overall I am looking forward a lot more to watching them than the guys.

Gender aside,I think the best in the competition is Asia'h.If she doesn't make the top 5,I will eat my hat...

I like Joanne purely because she lists Leona Lewis as her favourite female artist
