K850i Clock Display

Hi!

I just got the K850i on an upgrade, anyone else with this handset?

I've moved from the K800i, which would display the time on the screen when the screen had gone to 'sleep' (also a text icon if you had new messages in your inbox). The 850 doesn't seem to do this - am I incorrect, can it be set? I'm wondering if it can't, due to the screen being an absolute 'black' as opposed to more dark grey on the 800i... anybody?

I don't have it but you could try going to Menu > Settings > Display > Sleep mode clock.

If that option isn't there the phone can't display it - It would be a bad thing if it couldn't as basically all SE phones do this.

I wonder if you do have it, just not set on by default. If you have it, you should find it under Settings > Display > Sleep Mode Clock

Blimey its not there! Slightly disappointing Suprised actually. It must be due to the absolute blackness of the display screen. The 800 is a definate grey on which black numbers can show up easily.

Hmm, weird.

Ohwell - It only takes half a second to turn the screen on anyway.

Can you have the clock set to Large or Small like on the 800?

Yeh you still have that choice.

The K850 doesn't have that feature but if you hit the volume button while the screen is off it will light the clock up and show if you have missed any calls or texts.

No, the K800i showed time and missed calls/texts in standby. By pressing the Volume button you lit the back-light up for a short time. The 850 doesn't show the time at all unless the volume button is pressed.

I meant that its similar in the way that if you the press volume buttons the screen lights up and shows the same information.

Similar but not the same.
