Sony DVPS336 DVD Player Hack

Does anyone know of a remote Region 1 hack for this DVD player ? I haven't found one yet ..... but I've only just started looking.

As far as I know, you cannot hack this dvd player (I have the same one). You have to have it chipped to enable multi-region. There are sites on the internet that chip them, or sell you a kit to do it yourself. I think the chips cost about £50 ish.

http://www.techtronics.com can supply you with a multimod upgrade to give you multiregion AND also disable Macrovision. The cost is approx. £60 if you fit it yourself and £100 if you send the player to them, to fit it.

No sony players at the moment can be remote control hacked. They can only be modified by chipping them

have you asked your local sony centre about unlocking it? i bought my DVD player from them with it already unlocked.

the reason i suggest this is, my warranty is still valid, and i'm not sure if it will be if you do it yourself

anyway they charged me £100, which in the long run is well worth it considering the savings your can make on cheaper DVD's
