I love all types of cakes. I know you said websites but Mary Berry has a really good cook book on cakes and pretty much everything. My other half used to make cakes from it

The Australian Women's Weekly cookbooks used to be good.

My mum used to buy them when I was a teenager and I spent hours dribbling over the pictures.

You may have trouble finding some of the ingredients, though?

Isn't that Russian?

No! it stems from a German word (Kugel) that means ball!

I'll give you a nice cake recipe

4oz margarine
4oz sugar
6oz self raising flour
2 eggs
tablespoon of milk

Mix marg & sugar together. When it forms a whiteish mixture, add in the eggs and a tbsp of milk. They fold in the flour, gradually. Put in the oven for 180'c and check regularly until it's golden brown.
This makes a great sponge cake. But to make it into a coffee cake, add in about a teaspoon of very concentrated coffee. It's very nice. Then add buttercream

My mum taught me this recipe, I love it. Hope you will!
