I thought they had already reactively moved against the O2 tarrif refresh, or so our Competitor Analyst told me. If they haven't then they soon are, T-Mobile have already moved.

Hi ck7ah and any other members interested in Vodafones current offerings,
We've recently changed our tariffs and now offer even more value than ever before with things like unlimited landlines and texts and great value text allowances with all of our deals. This together with Vodafone stop the clock, Vodafone family and Vodafone passport, you can make your minutes stretch even further than ever before. Check out our website at www.vodafone.co.uk click on the Vodafone services section here. You're guaranteed to find something that appeals to you and helps you to really make the most of now! Hopefullyuseful Vodafone UK |

Since When have Vodafone charged £5 per month for Stop the clock? ![]() Quote:
How much does it cost? I've always thought Stop the Clock was a free add-on. You can add Stop The Clock to your plan for just £5 per month. Or, depending on your price plan, you can exchange some of your inclusive minutes or texts for Stop The Clock. Give us a call and we’ll let you know what’s available to you ![]() I was looking at Vodafone, but this has put me off a bit. |

I thought it was free as well. In all honesty, I quit Vodafone PAYG when I noticed my credit was disappearing - and I wasn't making any calls. I went to bed one night and had £11.14. Next morning, it had gone down to £10.89 and I had literally not touched the phone.
Maybe they charge for Stop the Clock gradually? Orange seem to charge in huge chunks. I check my e-mails and lose 50p. I make a quick £5 minute landline call and seem to lose over a £1. o2 seem honest enough. I never seem to lose credit with them, I actually gain it. |

I'm as surprised as you, did anyone else notice a massive advertising campaign saying that Vodafone would be charging for something that was previously free? Though charging for it probably ties in with their woeful data rates too.

So good of you to repeat the marketing speak of your employer, especially with such enthusiasm.
I feel the charge is also buried quite well on the website and brushed over quite eloquently. Vodafone was looking a good option for me particularly as we have a micro-cell in some of our offices. This just reinforces my pre-conceptions of Vodafone being too expensive for me in comparison to o2 (with their perks like 10% back and free mins / texts) or three. (The only other two networks i can get a signal from at work) Anyone get the feeling that Vodafone's target audience is more business, in comparison to the other networks. |

Their SIM only tariffs are ok though and aimed at poorer punters. £20 for 500 mins and 100 texts (or more texts and far fewer mins) isn't bad. Only gripe is unlimited Voda to Voda (up to 1hr) calls have to be bought for an extra fiver on Family. It would be nice if that were included in the tariff. Still better than Orange SIM only though and more mins p.m than Tesco Std plus.

Bare in mind with Orange you can set up a Your Group which can include upto 4 PAYM (including SIM Only) and 4 PAYG phones and that means you can call each of the other numbers FOC and unlimited. Rather than pay £5. |

Orange hasn't been competitive for a few years and the quality of service has dropped considerably. The Orange website is awful to navigate around and find anything on.

We haven't refreshed our tarrifs yet, so we will be a little uncompetitive at the minute.

Orange shook the Industry up when we started to offer the 180 ATC Credit offer last October. It forced the £5 Flext reduction and O2 to drop their price on the similar tarrifs. |

No thanks, I'd be happy to give them a break if they said the information is available at the voda website but to be filling the post with "we" and "our" is marketing bullshit, especially when the post also includes the words "You're guaranteed to find something that appeals to you", which truly is bullshit. I can speak with some confidence on this particular point as I am a voda customer who is in their last month of a contract and voda's tarriffs are currently piss-poor for the most part. Though at least they look better than Orange.
What i mean is, he the guy who wrote it, is just doing a job, earning a living, the same as the reset of us. he is not vodafone, i rather suspect that he didn't set the tariffs that upset you so much. if you don't like their tariffs then leave. they aren't obliged to offer you something you like. and calm down. drink less coffee, go for a wlk in the country. |

Not allowed to discuss them until they are released or there is a press release. More than my job's worth I'm afraid.
