thinks its still recording bug - still happens - when?

My humax 9200 failed to record the first half of a program, when another recording stoped it started recording the second half. I tried to edit a recording and it came up the message "cannot do this while recording" - but it wasn't recording anything.

It seems the old "thinks its still recording" bug is still happening - but I'm not sure what caused it.

Has this happened to anyone else?

With a re-boot at the back all is now fine...

What software are you on? This error was introduced in v20 but fixed in v21.

I too have had this problem with V.21, had to switch off at the back.

I had the 'thinks it's still recording bug' this morning. I have a feeling, not fuly tested that it followed an instand record of a programe in mid transmission.

Nice to know it's not just me that had this bug with the latest v21 software.

i'm on version 21 since the OTA upgrade - had it previously on version 6, it clearly isn't cured - however I am suspicious that the cause may have changed, hence my post. nice (sort of) that others have it.

I'll need to play around to get to the bottom of the cause.

Also suspicious that maybe it then resulted in various AR/series link recordings not being recorded - perhaps it thought it was recording bbc1, so didn't record bbc1?

Had it again last nignt when I went to put the Hummy into standby. A hard switch off and on cured it and it has behaved properly this morning.

For info, I knew the bug had struck again when I put the box into standby and the little clock symbol above the time digits was missing in spite of there being a long list of programmes set to record.

Once again, during the day, we had used the instant record for a part way through BBC1 programme. Could still be coincidence of course.

I think I had this happen to me following "Paradise or Bust". Since the upgrade to .21, I've experienced this "TIR" bug at least three times, yet another HUMAX in the house also at .21 doesnt have this problem.

I followed all the suggestions when I upgraded both boxes, the only thing I cant remember doing was the Boot Loader as this particular box was already at the latest version (A09 ?).

I'm on v21 with AR/series link set, and it's missing various recordings for me too. eg last nights Masterchef not recorded, yet all remaining ones clearly marked for recording, and previous ones recorded ok. Also failed to record last weeks 'Ashes to Ashes' on AR/series link. Lets hope this apparent bug is fixed soon.

I've just experienced this bug with v.21, It showed the recording as having taken up 30 mins, but when you try to stop it it just carries on. The actual recording was up past 36hrs ! Power off and on again was the only way to stop it. I suspect this is tied up with series link / starting recording after the programme has started.

I had the TIR bug again this week with no obvious reason why. I also had one case of a missed series link but fortunately discovered this in time to start recording manually.

I am wondering whether to try and re-install the v21 from a pc download! Anyone else tried this, please? It seems that only a few boxes are affected.

I think there has been at least one other person who has done this; I think they went back to 1.00.20 found that was OK and then reinstalled 1.00.21 to find that was now behaving. So yes I think it would be worth trying. Let us know how you get on.
