Cancelled Installation - record?
So far I have arranged for Tiscali TV installation TWICE and still don't have the service. I've had broadband for 4 years with Tiscali and never had a problem. The bundle of free line rental, anytime calls to 01 and 02 telephone numbers, up to 8Mb broadband and Tiscali TV all for £24.99 looked "too good to be true" - maybe it is .....
Firstly on 29th Jan 08, and I get a phone call at 2pm from Tiscali the day before and the operator advises that the installation is cancelled due to "technical difficulties". I press the Indian Call Centre Operator to explain "technical difficulties" and get no joy. Fast forward a few weeks. Installation due today (19th Feb 08), take time work off again, and yesterday I get a call - again at 2pm (why so late!?!, a pattern?) - from the Indian Call Centre Operator stating that the installation is off due to "technical difficulties". At what point do I phone the Guinness Book of Records under the catagory "Cancelled Tiscali TV Installations"? I am so hacked off at Tiscali's Non Customer Service. I can't afford to just keep taking more and more time off work for Tiscali not to show up. Is this hastle really all worth it ... I wonder. BromsgroveBhoy |

Well I received a letter informing me my installation was cancelled due to a provisioning delay the morning before. Later in the day I had a call from the engineer confirming the time he was coming etc! There's something very wrong with Tiscali's systems! I've also only just received my welcome pack, nearly three weeks after I was installed. It helpfully tells me about my installation (in the past!). Echoes of when I was on Homechoice and Tiscali would send me a bill telling me all about the previous month's TV highlights...

i can beat that, four times they didnt turn up, and two months later I'm still not reconnected. Even their head of complaints couldnt help. Told sky and they have given me SKY + for free including install and landline,free calls 24/7 and all channels except premium for and 8MB broadband for £41 a month which if you work out the true cost of Tiscali, is £2 cheaper. the best thing is Sky actually works. my simple advice is dont touch them. great product in principle but it doesnt work
