Sun on Plasma
Does anybody have information about negative effects of letting direct sunlight on a plasma even when switched off?
Thanks |

Apart from maybe fading the case, no reason it should affect anything. The electronics are internal, so sunlight will not reach them.

Thanks darkie. I seem to recall seeing something about sunlight on the screen but maybe I got it wrong.

I also recall something about sun adversely affecting plastma, might have been to do with the heat rather than light. My 42" LG packed in last week, I had used to close curtains on it, but engineer who wrote it off also told me that tilting (for optimum view angle) could also be detrimental.

Unless you tilt it so far as to affect airflow (like mounting on the ceiling) then this is nonsense.
