Hopefully tomorrow we will be saying goodbye to that little snake Jen

I really can't see her staying faithful to Ryan if Ryan goes tomorrow

No more than she deserves

I have extended an invite to Bobby to come in here one day and say hello if he wishes

That's good to know. The myspace blog didn't really clear anything up.

I discovered I have to be very careful between 4pm - 9pm. It seems if I download too much during those times, they cut back internet connections to 1mb for 5 hours. Damn cheek.

I only found this out by nipping into the VM forum and seeing a link to a page on VM's site about it.

I am with Freedom 2 surf, now part of Pipex and Tiscali (spit ) there is an account area where you can see usage. If your bills are higher than expected, it may be worth upgrading your package.

That would be before America gets online at home, strange. It must be a peak time in UK. I wish I had VM option, but then on DS I hear only bad stuff about them.

On the whole, I like VM. I was just very narked that for 2 nights my speeds were dropping like a stone and hours later back to normal. They say it's to stop people hogging too much bandwidth or something, but I figured that's the peak times school kids are online and my youngest likes to play rpg's, watch sports videos online etc, so now means I have to nag him not to on show nights and I miss hours of BB streaming I am paying for, as I haven't worked out how much of my allowance this takes up.

On a plus side, they are going to be upping the speeds from 4mb to 10mb with no extra charge.

Be ready for about 10 days of problems while it tests and sets your line, a few years ago F2S gave a free upgrade to 8MB from 2MB, DURING BB! most inconsiderate.
I am nearly 1.5 miles from exchange but have always got around 6 MB on tests, so worth it.

We had no problems when we went from 2mb to 4mb, but this time around we have to have a new modem, as the set top box isn't up to the job of 10mb. They are coming out on Thursday afternoon to do it, but no idea yet if we get a new box or a new modem. The speed increase is anywhere between February and summer and I just know it will be during the summer when something good is happening in the house.

I see VM are going to be doing 50mb soon, but doubt I could afford to have that.

I think that will depend on your exchange, unless you get VM via cable, no experience of cable as they stopped a mile from my house.. At the risk of tempting fate, I will recommend Linksys for a router, wireless modem, pain free setup and reliable connection. They are part of Cisco.

Re cost, if you are having problems sharing with family, would it be worth paying extra? These shows are your hobby and a fairly cheap one compared with others.

I do get my service via cable and touch wood, I haven't had too many problems with it. I use ethernet cables and a Netgear router.

I couldn't go back to a non cable service, unless they decide to dig up the road and sort out the stupid phone lines around here. When I had a dial up via a bt line, I kept complaining about my phone being noisy and being disconnected from the internet. They insisted nothing was wrong with my line, until I finally found one sympathetic person who sent out an engineer. He heard my line and said it was very dirty. He was outside messing about for ages and finally knocked my door and told me my phone line was under around 3ft of water. The road still hasn't been done, so the problem would still be the same, so I told them I wouldn't be coming back until they sorted it out. That was over 5 years ago.

As for the cost of a 50mb speed, we shall have to see what they set the price at, but with everything going up (and I now see the water bills are going up now), I doubt I will be able to afford to blow my nose, at this rate.
