I have recently started listening to Lebanese chart music and am loving the sounds, especially those with shades of Arabian sounds to them, despite not understanding a word of what they are saying!

I would like recommendations of Artists/Song names which have good dance beats, and possibly have the Arabian sound to them. I like stuff by Elissa, Nancy Ajram and Amr Diab. Examples of the kind of stuff I'm after are listed below:

Elissa - Bastanak
Amr Diab - Ana Leek

Thanks in advance.

I like some middle eastern stuff too, but mostly by artists like Sertab Erener etc. Best advice I could give is to get to a huge HMV, like the one inside Harrods in Knightsbridge. They have a massive selection of arabian and lebanese music.

I love Radio Tarifa. They combine traditional Spanish & Arabic music and are like no other band I've heard.

Check out their debut album Rumba Argelina to see if you like them.

Maybe not strictly what you were after but this was the band that got me into "world music".

Are you trying to be funny? I dont like British chart junk. I specified that the music should be Lebanese/Arab - i dont want English.

I listened to the first minute or so of this tune. It is nice, but not really what I'm after. It does'nt have dance beats to it

If you are interested, check out the following site for streamed Middle Eastern music. It has albums of every Arab artist you can think of. If I like an album, I may go and buy it.
