Best phone for writing on?
mistri
20-02-2008
Odd question, I know.

I want a new phone. Aside from occasional calls and texts, I want to be able to do small amounts of writing on it now and then. So long as I can navigate to the file I've written in using my pc and pull the text off, I'll be happy.

I'd prefer a qwerty keypad (even if it's one where there are 2 letters on a button) - though handwriting recognition might be an option too.

However, I am currently a PAYG customer and only top up with £15 every couple of months. And I'm cheap - I only have up to £150ish (maybe a bit more if it was wonderful) to spend.

Any recommendations?

(I'd previously asked about the Samsung i320 and Orange SPV E610 but I'm trying to widen my search now)

The best phone to type with and still fits in your pocket is the o2 xda exec, decent keyboard for writing small amounts and their going for pretty cheap on ebay

A cheaper option might be to find on EBAY or such an old t mobile vario (or HTC wizard) they have good keyboards and dont weigh a ton like the exec

What about the LG Viewty? Handwriting recognition and qwerty keyboard. Awesome phone too!!

Although pretty hard to get for that price i would imagine, unless you were lucky on ebay like the other posters suggested?

Definitely worth the money though.

Does the Viewty have a keyboard? I didn't realise that.

Yeah, you can choose between a keyboard, standard keypad, handwriting recognition and obviously T9. I personally use the T9 as its what im used to, but ive only had the thing for a day or two so plenty of times to mess around with it
