He's actually alot more than a nobody. a top 10 album and one of the biggest singles of the summer! Also co-written with Arctic Monkeys who are one of the biggest bands around today!

Just because he aint your cup of tea doesn't mean he's shit. However Leona is just a face of a brand. She's like Sainsburys own brand Cheese. Maybe Taste the difference but still. A brand.

Whilst the Reverend writes, and sings his own songs!

Heavyweight Champion on the world was one of the few songs to keep growing and growing in the charts last year. So Alot of people will disagree with you.

I'd rather listen to THE worst music in the world if it was written by that artist than some bland MOR rubbish performed by someone with the right look and voice

Maybe so, but at least he's performing his own work badly rather than warbling terribly over someone else's.

It's called "Singing", a term you are obviously unfamiliar with.

No, it's 'warbling' definitely.

I don't deny that Leona has a voice, but at best I would describe her as a generic diva, devoid of real passion or soul. She's good looking and marketable and has a good range, but I find her music bland and MOR.

I'm just envious because it is so freaking far away from where I live.

...and Dundee is in a lovely part of the world too FWIW - stayed there in December.

Brother-in-law's wedding up at a castle and did it rain? you bet!

still saw a lovely sunrise over the mountains on the way down to Edinburgh.

Is that the best put down you could come up with, given that T in the Park is certainly the biggest and best festival in Scotland. It could be judged by some that it is now better then Glastonbury. I think Leona would be more suited to Night at the Proms, then 'Night in her Million Pound trailer in the Mud. Which probably suits the type of people who go to festivals, they appreciate artists that work for their money instead of letting someone else earn it for them.

As for the Isle of Lewis, unless Leona is a couple million years old, I think you'll find she got her name from her parents; not the Scottish Island.

I think you're being a bit idealistic about festival-goers.

you've also missed my explanation about T - it was my envy that I couldn't get to it that produced the comment. it does have a really good line-up IMO.

anyhow - she played a millionaires wedding up in Scotland and got paid £100k or something for a short set - good business if you can do it.

Lewis was another joke - as a Proclaimers fan (amongst many other bands, I hasten to add) I coould hardly not have noticed "Lewis no more" - could I?

whoosh?

Given the line ups, I'd say it was this year. Though I guess the dope smoking hippies that attend it, won't really care who's on stage; they will be floating away in their mud bath soaking up the atmosphere man!

Some of the posts in here are so astounding, I'm actually wondering if they're spoof comments.

People saying that because they haven't heard of McClure (which I find absolutely mental) then he's not as good as Leona f*cking Lewis?

Jesus H Christ.

Notoriety doesn't equal talent I'm afraid. I've heard of lots of people I wish I hadn't. Westlife sell records, but they're all devoid of talent. All four of them, and the especially fat and talentless f*cker who left.

I tell you what, I squeezed out a turd earlier with more charisma and talent than Leona Lewis. McClure - a genuinely inspirational poet with something meaningful to say - was well within his rights to take a swipe.

X-Factor doesn't produce talented singers. It produces money to line Cowell's pockets. The obnoxious c**t!

Never heard of him before this thread - I'd heard of the band, but not him.

For the record, I have literally hundreds of CDs and have seen perhaps a thousand live acts (I had about 500 under the belt by 1985, when I listed all the ones I could remember).

I think Leona is good within her sphere of operation - perhaps McClure is too BUT he's playing to the anti-Cowell gallery and that is not a reason to diss another performer.

I'd never say another guitarist or bass-player was shit just because they'd sold loads of records and I hadn't. sounds like the "Green Manalishi with the Two Pronged Crown" has set up court in his head.

Anyone who plays to the Anti-Cowell gallery gets my vote.

This man believes he's a true pop svengali. Lest we forget the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

He's nothing more than a money-hungry idiot. Leona is a puppet, whose sole calling in life is to make that smug arsehole a quick buck.

It's rotten.
