Muse just stand and play a few instruments? Good lord, I love Take That and Muse (diverse musical taste), but proper, talented musicianship, IMHO, is miles above dancing talent in terms of something admirable, so your point kind of fell a bit flat.

I'd love Gary Barlow and Matt Bellamy to do a piano duel/duet. ”

I go for a duel then Bellamy whips out his guitar and kills off Barlow with a fat riff.

I can dream...

They're both good, but very different. I would've been happy with either winning. As it is the public voted more for Take That. It doesn't mean the award is a travesty.

TT do have a place, pandering to the middle age hormonally challenged female market, every country has their TT.

This award was par for the course for the whole night.”

I have seen Muse and TT plus many other bands and to be fair both put on a VERY different tour . TT did imo deserve this year to win that award. Months of work went into a spectacular show which kept going when one member was seriously ill. They perform live play instruments and write their own songs. Their shows are magical, their audience are very diverse not all middle aged woman ! A huge amount of men went this year too.
I'm sure Muse will again pick up another award for touring as they do a decent gig too

Well done Take That, you worked hard all last year and you performed and toured here for your fans, that's why they won the best single award, imo you have to win the love of the people who buy your music, I think Leona and her management need to take note of this.

Muse were robbed. Vastly superior musicians, Matt Bellamy is a better vocalist than all four of Take That combined and Muse put on a much better stage-show.

It was to do with votes though........not sales

Isn't it strange that the last time them pansies aka Take That were in the limelight they won best british single in 1993 & 1994, then they do the right thing and left the music biz & then wadda u know, they comeback x amount of years later and get the award again . Me thinks there is a backhander somewhere.

Hmm Morrisons use that crappy shine record for their ad which a load of money gets paid to itv . ”

hahahaha.....this smacks of desperation.

WELL DONE ,TAKE THAT!

Absolutely deserved!

Why?

I'm not slating them for playing - but its true. From people I know who've seen them, they've said they remained at the front and played their instruments.

There's no shame in it - I'm just pointing out that Take That were more dance/performance based, whereas Muse were music performace based.

It wasn't a dig at Muse.

Actually the award was for best single.

Only Take That fans would even bother to argue against the fact that Bleeding Love is a much better single than shine, hence the reason it can be #1 in so many countries.

The obvious miscarriage of justice in this instance highlights the fact the Award is meaningless. If one of the decades best songs can be beaten by one of the years most mediocre then we either need to change the way the award is decided or scrap it.

It's a problem,

Leave it to the public and the silly women and school kids choose something from a pretty boy.

Leave it to the "Experts" and they will pick some obscure from a "credible" artist that no ones ever heard of.

Perhaps they should do 50/50.

So what if they're not stood there for 2 hours with guitars stuck to them. It gives them freedom to put on a show, perform and entertain the crowds. And that is what Take That is all about.
My friend did the props for the tours, and Take That were fully in charge of what happened in the shows, the set design, the costumes....they are not just puppets performing to background music. Take That have never mimed at a concert. And very very rarely on tv, I think I've only seen them once since their comeback.
I went to several of the concerts, and trust me it's not 'polished' as someone said. There is something new to see every time.”

I have seen TT live and it is amazing, I totally agree with the above post

Well other bands try comebacks and dnt get far so i will agree they hv did a gd comeback. They would hv been alot bigger if Robbie Williams went back i think.

Being number one in lots of countries doesn't make a song good.
Unless of course you think Barbie Girl was right up there with the Beatles?

yep leave it to the public like me who isn't a silly woman or a child and can pay my own phone bills ! and you have a fair vote!
Take That fans were on 3 forums from what I can see on a huge mission to get them through the rounds for best single then went hell for leather calling for Shine during the last 3 days. Leona fans did not or she would have won !

It just wasn't enough though against the main TT fan forums with nearly 17,000 members between them their campaign was all over facebook and myspace too.

Leona has plenty of years to pick up Brits and I'm sure she will do whilst I am not a fan of bleeding love single, I know Leona has a fantastic voice and is a talented singer miles better that most!
