Thirsty FM transmitter
Should an FM transmitter drain batteries when turned off? I only use the thing once in a while but when I turn it on the batteries always seem to need replacing.

Does the FM transmitter display the time (or do something else that might use power in standby mode)?
I had the same problem with one that shows the time. Since I started taking the batteries out after each use, I haven't yet needed to switch them for new ones. I've used it half a dozen times over the last 2 months - total use nearly 10 hours - and the same set of batteries are still going strong. Previously I needed new batteries every time I wanted to use it. |

Recently got on from Ebay for £5 which turns itself off completely if no sound for 1 or 2 mins. Guess this saves the batteries? It also came with a 12v cigarette lighter adapter, at a pinch one could connect this to a 12v mains adaptor...

If it's the same as the ones I've used, a generic Nokia phone charger works a treat.
