After experiencing a number of failed recordings recently, i rang humax who told me how to fix it.

Go to installation and default.
When the box restarts, stop it from searching for channels.
Go to instalation - manual search.
Channel 52 - Network Search ENABLE.
Search and save the channels.

Hope this works better now.

What sort of 'failed' recording does this fix?

What's special about channel 52, or is it just a UHF channel carrying a multiplex in your area? If this is the case then channel 52 will have no relevance to most other people.

well it has worked so far for me.

and i forget to say - they asked for my postcode, so the channel will probably vary for everyone.

If you want to speak to Humax, I called 028 9182 4983 and got a quick response.

This is what Humax support suggested for me (nearly). I was given a list of channels to manually tune.

It did not fix the problem and have now been asked to format the disk

I have suffered more failed recordings yet again for the first time in 4 days.

I was recording click on bbc news 24 at 00:30 and it continued to record for around 11 hours untill i had to switch the box off and on again. I ended up missing two scheduled recordings because of it!!!!

HUMAX DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!

I have the Sunday 04:30 edition of "Click" set on series link (and hence accurate record), and Sunday's broadcast was recorded without problem (Rowridge transmitter).

Could your problem possibly be due to the BBC not broadcasting the correct series-link and/or accurate-record data for the edition that you tried to record?
