Carter USM

Does anyone remember Carter? I loved this band during the late eighties, early nineties. I saw them play live loads of times and met them once. They were the kings of the thoughtful pun and great, great fun to watch.

Jim Bob is doing two dates in London (9th, 10th April) at 100 Club. Wish I could get there.

That was so funny. I'm sure he still doesn't think so.

Still one of my all time favs because I was really into them in my formative years.

I still follow both Fruit Bat and Jim Bobs solo careers.

Jim Bob has made some really good albums which I would advise people to check out - a more mature sound than Carter and fantastic lyrics.

“Angelstrike” album is probably his best but the “School” concept album is great - complete with recorders and glockenspiel.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've not followed them as closely as I did, but just getting back into them again.

What I liked about them (apart from the music) was that they were both such nice blokes. Intelligent, too.

Have a look on the Carter website and forum - ran by Fruit Bat.

Fruity and Jim both post along with Jim's manager - how cool would I have thought this was if I was still 16.
