tv signal switches
Hi,
I am trying to combine the second output of a Sky Digital Box [Not Sky + ] fitted in the lounge, using a magic eye, with an analogue aerial signal input to the TV in a bedroom. Is there a switch that will do this? ![]() Cheers billyboy10 |

Do you have an aerial going down to near the Sky? If so the easiest way is to plug that into the Sky and just use the Sky output which will have both TV and Sky on it.

Is there an aerial feed into the RF IN on the Sky box?
If there is then the RF OUT will contain whatever is coming down the aerial along with the output of the Sky box. In that case just plug the lead from the Sky box direct to the bedroom TV and ignore it's aerial lead. If not then you can buy RF switches or a thing called a combiner. Which as the name suggests combines signals from two aerial feeds into one. However many combiners are filtered, in other words the two inputs cover different ranges of UHF channels. This reduces interference between the two feeds. So you need one that has one input that matches the channels coming down the aerial and the second matches the output of the sky box. But to recomend a suitable combiner requires knowing what transmitter you are receiving from and what channel the Sky box is set to. |
