After searching high and low to get hold of replacement batteries for the iDect X1 cordless phone made by Binatone, I thought I'd post details for other people to find when they Google. The battery also is used in the iDect X3 phone.

Firstly the correct battery is a two thirds size AAA 1.2v 400 mAh NiMH and the phone uses two of them. In the user manual there is a supposed number to call to order replacement batteries but this has proved useless (to be polite). The problem trying to find a source on the internet is that a lot of sites claim to have the correct batteries but have the wrong spec. listed. One site even had a non-rechargeable AAA battery as a replacement for the iDect X1 phone.

The two sources I have found that have the correct battery are:
Small Battery Company - 2 pack (don't worry that the packaging mentions 300 mAh they are actually 400 mAh)
Twenga - 2 pack (Temporarily out of stock 21/02/08)

I had the same problem and I found another place that stocks the iDect X1 batteries -
http://www.cordless-phones.uk.com/co...1-twin-battery

This is for the two pack version but they also sell them in bigger packs. I had no problems ordering them and they arrived the next day.

Having searched the usual electrical outlets for iDect X1 phone batteries and getting nowhere, I too searched the internet and found a website. It seems the manufacturer has finally got their act together and are selling the batteries through www.buyabattery.co.uk They claim to be the official retailers for these Sanik batteries in the UK. I ordered 6 of them and they were exactly the same as the ones I took out of my phones, 2/3 AAA 400mah. Ordered at 2pm and they arrived by post the very next day, very impressive! Cost including post (which was only 99p) was £10.59. I would recommend anyone looking for these batteries to visit this site
