I joined Vodafone in May 2007 on an 18 month contract giving me 500 free texts, 250 inclusive minutes and a 10% discount on the £30 contract, giving me a monthly price of £27. The first 6 months were also half price if I remember correctly.
Back in December, I decided to up my allowance and pay £35 per month for a slightly different plan, since I realised I was far exceeding my monthly minutes and hoped to save money. I read the T&Cs and it said it was fine to upgrade before 18 months are up, but you had to wait 12 months to downgrade your contract.
I changed my contract using the options on the website and chose 350 mins with free Stop the Clock, though strangely, it doesn't come with any free texts, which seems rather odd for £35 per month. Consequently, I haven't actually saved a great deal; I'm just spending most of my money on texts now rather than calls!
To get to my main point. Do I end up having to restart my 18 month contract every time I modify my monthly allowance online or am I still in a position to cancel once my original 18 months is up, which will be in November '08?
The reason I ask is because I have decided that I'd like to go back onto Pay as You Go once I've reached the end of my current minimum agreement or move onto a sim only 30-day contract, so that I'm not tied down.
