BBC INSIDER: John Barrowman is being lined-up to replace the retiring Brucie in 2010.
Oh.

Brucie, you can present the show in a Bath-chair - stay!

If he can make it not all about him, then fine. Not sure he can though...

Hmm I'd rather see him as a contestant but he is one of the few suggestions that I don't mind too much.

Gone right off borrowman of late. It's all me, me, me with him right now

He has a book, an album, a tour and a TV series to promote all at once.

And me.

Also his habit of saying the same word 3 times really grates me when he gives his critique on a judging panel.

1/ I'm ecstatic that Brucie will be around for another two series all being well.

2/ Barrowman is at least a marginally better idea than Ronnie Corbett.

so? plenty of other celebs manage to do this without being so over the top and annoying.

But that's just my opinion.

I love him but I don't think he's right for SCD!!

i'd prefer him as a contestant but i can deal with him presenting!!

I could deal with that, I think he's pretty good at tailoring his style to the format so I think he'd be fine.

(Does that mean Brucie has at least the next two series?)

Mind you, I'll believe it when I see it.

He's been my choice all along, but why do we have to wait so long?

No , no no , arrogant and self obssessed is the best I can say about JB .

He is far too overtly homosexual for this show, as would Graham Norton be . Nothing with John Barrowman is family entertainment .

I still seriously think the only successor is Aled Jones, he is absolutely right for the show.

Aled Jones??? I can see that in a way. He does know about dancing, and he can present.

I find that quite offensive to be honest.

I am surprised you can bear to watch CRH, Bruno, Matthew and Ian then. And we've had Julian Clary on in the past. How shocking.

What are you expecting John to do? To be groping their backsides all the time?? I'm sure he can behave according to whatever audience he is performing to.

JB is a great presenter, but I think something more later and Adulty will be better for him. Not SCD, but then again I'm sure he'll do well. David Tennant would be cool, but that's just a little fantasy of mine .

I agree. Homosexuality is a fact of life and shouldn't be denied or disguised or hidden.

My own criticism of him stems from the fact that on the Joseph programme last year he seemed to want a lot of attention (as did Denise van Outen). To criticise on the basis of sexuality is ludicrous.

I used to like him but I've gone off him recently. Like others here, I think he is too "me me". Like the suggestion of Aled Jones though.

He certainly can and is superb live . Very witty and vey quick , rarely makes a mistake , presents live all the time and a really great guy . He is very natural , what you see on screen is as he is off stage .

What about Gethin? He is a presenter after all and knows about the show.
