Have you tried this on your Nokia 6100/6610/7210??

I dont know if anyone has tried this

When your phones keypad is locked, and the screensaver is on

press the following buttons

0 (Zero) followed by 8 (Eight)

do you find that the backlight comes on and your wallpaper appears. but you cannot do anything else the keypad is still locked.

Can anyone explain this, as there is no reference to this in the manual, or on the nokia website

I think that may be a European emergency number, the same happens if you type it 112 or 999.

Just tried this on my 7250 - it looks like it is an emergency number, as calling the number results in "Attempting Emergency Call" appearing on the screen. You will probably be aware that emergency numbers can be dialled whilst the keypad is locked.
