i didn't even know the madness song was a cover, let alone that labbi siffre wasn't a one hit wonder. every day is a schoolday.

A load of my friends have thought that labi siffre's version is a cover - one of them even thought it was new!
I'm glad Labi siffre's version is getting a bit of publicity again because I can't recall hearing it on the radio or seeing it on a compilation before now. I think it was being way overshadowed by the madness version, which in my opinion is no comparison to the original, as much as I like Madness.
As far as every day being a school day - today's media studies lesson - if you look at the video for Madness' version of "it must be love," labi siffre actually makes a cameo appearance.
