The only thing that would physically stop them arriving on your phone would be if the phone was full of texts and wasn't able to receive any more. That might be worth looking at, although i'm sure it isn't the case. It's probably a little problem in the network, so in the next day or so you're going to get 50 delivery reports! (Probably at 3am just to twist the knife a final time by waking you up!)

Hi,

Sorry to hear those who are having problems with text messages and alerts. Sometimes it's worthwhile to perform a manual roam as a first suggestion -

1) Access Main menu scroll to and select Settings
2) Scroll to and select Phone Settings
3) Scroll to and select Network Selection
4) Select Manual
5) Choose another Network
6) Select Manual
7) Choose vodafone Network
8) Once complete reset to Automatic

If you still have problems then I'd recommend contacting Vodafone directly so that we can invesigate further (e.g. it could be a network problem or a situation with the SIM / handset). If you can provide the below information, then go here and include the below details as part of an email. Also if you leave the short-code FIT135 in the body of the email this will make sure it reaches the correct team to investigate the issue.

1) Make and model of handset
2) Post code area of where the fault is occurring
3) Any specific error messages on the mobile
4) Are you also having difficulty with voice calls
5) If you know which network you're texting / receiving from (and if one specific network) which network is the text message failing to send to / receive from
6) Time and date the problem started (including specific times of failed alerts / reports if possible)
7) Is the problem permanent or intermittent

This way we can look into this further (whether it be a network fault or an issue with the SIM / mobile device settings). I hope this information will give you an option to get this resolved.

Glad to hear it worked. The manual roam is a useful thing to do if you're having problems with voice or text services as it 'boots' your number back onto the network, say, if you've been out of coverage. If the problems continue I'd still recommend contacting Vodafone with the list of checks above as we can always look into it in greater detail to save continual manual roams

the whole of the DN postcode are has been having trouble since the 14th of Feb.
messages not being recieved at all over a week since they were sent,
no messages unless you do a manual roam.

spoken to Vodafone every day and the stock answers are:
do a roam
turn your phone on and off again

and

we dont promise text delivery and it can be up to72 hrs before delivery.
we now have a list of about 30-40 users in the area who by this thursday wil have had two weeks of problems.
and Vodafones answer.
absolutely sod all.

Hi Tasker,

I'm sorry to hear that you and many others in the DN postcode are experiencing problems with receiving SMS

It sounds like there maybe a network problem causing this issue which will need to be investigated at a network level.

Would it be possible for you to contact me via email so I can get the issue escalated for you? Please complete Vodafone's online contact form ensuring you fill in all the required fields and also including the code FIT135 so that the email is directed to the forum team.

Please include as much information as you can regarding the fault so I don't need to request further details.

I look forward to your email.

i have just called vodafone for the 7th time since 16th of feb, for all of 20mins yesterday it worked perfectly and then nothing again.
i am now being told it is a faulty sim card???????

me and a few thousand other people in the area then all got faulty sim cards eh???
dont think so, this is becoming a joke and all we get is we are dealing with it.
come on vodafone there is obviously a huge problem causing this and it is not getting sorted.

more worrying is everyday how many more friends and workmates say "oh yeh im on vodafone and im having trouble"

just how big is this problem???
oh yeh already contacted by e-mail and 7 cals, the next person that says
do a manual roam" gets both barrels

Have you done what tekgirl asked? So that she can help you sort this out?

done yesterday, but then i keep getting told it is being sorted.
that will be why i have now heard of even more people and an e-mail from work today saying
"telepartners isnt working due to a network (vodafone) problem."
1000 techs all must have faulty sim cards then.

yes im ranting but come on vodafone get it fixed or at least put something on your website telling everyone you are dealing with it before you start losing customers........

Perhaps us DigitalSpy forum members can shed some light on this? If anyone else is in tasker's area (Darlington?) is it working for you?

Hi tasker,

I can completely understand you being frustrated with this ongoing problem. I'm not aware of any specific issues myself but I'm sure if we did receive a contact from you as described by our very own tekgirl above, we'll do our best to look into this and possibly get some answers in relation to what the problem seems to be.

I'm sure it's something we have already been made aware of and one way or another we're trying to resolve it in the usual manner. We would ask anybody experiencing similar issues to continue with the manual roam and hopefully sometime very soon, the whole issue will have been fixed.

Hi tasker,

I've just been looking back at the progress of this thread and see that you've contacted us.

After looking through our worked emails I'm unable to see that the Forum Team received the email from you. I'm sorry to hear that your request hasn't been taken further and that you were told that it's being looked into or that it may be a SIM issue.

I'm keen to get this investigated for you so if you have the reference number to your email sent I can take ownership of your query.

Other then that if you wish to get back in touch via our online contact form ensuring that you include the code FIT135 so that the email is directed to the Forum Intervention Team I then can take the necessary steps to get this escalated.

I look forward to your response

if he responded to a message with the vodafone ref number in the subject this will over-ride putting fit135 in the body. may be why you didn't receive it.

Tekgirl, the first line in the e-mail was
Ref FIT135

sent from the link to the vodafone page

I spoke to my friend, her boyfriend is on Vodafone and isn't having any issues with texts at the moment. Hopefully, the knowledge that not everyone is affected will help Vodafone narrow the problem down.

This happens to me from time to time, including this weekend, always seems to pop up around free weekend texts time ... then a few days later a load of reports arrive with a ton of messages.

*tries the roam suggestion above*

Wow, it worked!! (Thanks!!)

Annoying? Yes. End of the world? No. If you find it that much of a problem go with another network.
