Who I think the show will push to win/be in the final, and who I like best, are not the same people.
Brooke is not the strongest singer, but she knows what works for her, and makes interesting choices vocally. There is a delicate and interesting quality to her voice, and she is very expressive. She connects with her song choices and has a unique charisma. Overall, she is my favorite of the girls.
Syesha is also interesting. She is polished, pretty, and has a lovely voice. She is slightly off pitch sometimes, and can sound strained on some songs when the notes are not in her comfortable range, but that is down to song choice, wich is not always in the contestant's control. She has more than enough range in which she sings beautifully to really shine if given the right song and opportunity to do so.
Carly is the strongest of the female singers, but I don't think she is the best. She forces her voice to belt louder and higher than she is capeable of, and it is uncomfortable to listen to when this happens. She seems to attack songs rather than work with them sometimes, and in some cases, the song wins ....having said that, she does have a great tone, and when she sang 'come together' it sounded fantastic. If she calms down., she could be great. Also, she seems to be one who the show wants to se advance.
David A gets the songs that work for his voice type. I think he is good, but not outstanding. The way the sound man places him in the mix, the extra 'help' with echo/effects to thicken and smooth his vocal , tell me that he is one that is slated to be in the final, if not the wanted to win one. I don't mean he is not good-he is-but he is also playing it very safe, and I hear things others may not be listening for...
Which brings me to why Chikezie is my favorite of the guys....He is the strongest singer with the largest comfortable range of this years contestants....Even with little if any 'help' from the sound man (pay attention, to his vocal in the mix and to the lack of effects, that sound was verging on dry), he still gave a great vocal and performance. I noted Simon told him he controlled the stage rather than the other way around' and wondered if that was meant to give credit for overcoming the lack of 'help' sound wise that some of the others had.
I don't think anyone left in this show is talentless, but those are my favorites.

david cook is really starting too stand out for me now."eleonor rigby"was brilliant...wise words from simon,if the public vote on talent..i love amanda but wonder if she can win because her style is so defined.brooke white has also really stood out in the past couple of weeks.

My favourite at the moment is Amanda Overmyer, breath of fresh air. She has this Taylorish type thing going on and i like it ( i liked Taylor as well ), and she has met the lead singer of REO Speedwagon too!!!!!

I think Brooke White will win this though she has so much overallness ( that sounds like a new word!! ) compared to the others. Hopefully Amanda (or Chickeze) as runner-up.

My favourite is Asia'h Epperson. It is a shame she was eliminated so early.

I have changed my opinion. Brooke was my overall favourite, but while I still like her she has started to disappoint. She really needs to up her game to keep up with everyone else.

At the moment David Cook is looking really strong. I quite like Michael's last two performances too, but don't think he is a winner, although he is incredibly hot. lol.

Do not ever Google anything to do with American Idol on a Friday! Without thinking, I just Googled David Archuleta, to check the spelling of his name, and Google told me straight away who was kicked off the show on Wednesday — right at the top with a bloody picture!

Anyway, for the rest of this post I shall speak as though I don't know who's going tonight…

I think David Cook has to win.

Obviously "little David Archuleta" has been the favourite for a while, but little David is great at doing one type of song, while David Cook has so much more depth and range, and I really look forward to his songs, which are really exciting, while I pretty much know what I'm going to get with Archuleta every time.

Also, it was a real shame that Chris Dautry never won, and David Cook is possibly more commercial than him, so there is a great opportunity to have a "rock Idol" this time I think.

She is my favourite and I really want her to win. She's a very lovely girl in real life — extremely down to earth and very genuine. (Actually, I sent her an email with loads of advice )

Unfortunately she hasn't had a really good week in a while and I'm worried about her. Her best performance was "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" (www.youtube.com/watch?v=368iwrZoYqI) Although I would avoid watching this until after tonight's show in case there are any spoilers about who got kicked out!

Thank you for clearing up the name. How do you know Ramielle in real life? And, just to say, I hope I haven't offended you by saying Ramielle thrives on being 'cutisized', what I mean there is, being the smallest contestant, people go 'awww isn't she cute' and to me she seems to thrive on it that it's taken over her ability to progress. If she were treated normal maybe her true voice would come through.

Oh, sorry I don't know her. But I have a) Read some of her brief conversations with people online b) Read an old online journal of hers dating back to way before American Idol started, and I think she is a very funny and genuine person, and sweet, and sensitive! Anyway, she is far from the fake that some people accuse her of being. Some people think her constant crying is fake, but it's not — she's emotional.


No, it's fine. I wasn't offended. I really get annoyed with the judges (and other guests) who keep talking about how small or cute she is. It is irritating because a) We know. She knows. No need to go on about it! b) There is more to her than just her physical size c) "small girl, big voice" oh that's original. Bet she's never heard that in her life! Look at her laughing at that joke again this week and successfully refraining from strangling you! d) She's the same size as Kylie, and Paula, and people don't constantly talk about their height do they!

The thing is, it seems people just constantly comment on Ramiele's size and cuteness, and I'm sure she's just accepted that people do that and learnt to live with it. And she can hardly have a go at the judges anyway. That's going to go down really well!

OK, she does sometimes "play cute" like sticking her bottom lip out etc., but plenty of girls play cute like that. And so does Simon Cowell! Seriously though, I think if you spend your life being told you're really small and cute, that will possibly affect your personality too.

The main thing is, I really don't think she's fake, which she has been accused of being by certain people.

But, I am heavily biased by my attraction to her!

I wish Ramielle well for the future. Bless her she's doing a brave thing right now.

Yeah I pretty much agree, Carly is the best girl, the boys are closer to call, I like david C and Michael, dC is the best singer but M is gorgeous!
