Just watched the latest episode and noticed it has not 'series linked'.

Has it finished?

It appears 7 episodes were made IMDB Link but there's no mention in Digiguide if episode 7 will air here.

I cannot see the point in airing it all if only 6 or 7 episodes were made and no ending.

It's frustrating to watch a new series and get into it, and enjoy it, only for it to vanish.

I know it was not to everyone's liking but the same thing happened with Commander in Chief.

Why do they bother to air them at all on Sky if they know that is going to be the case?

Rant over.

The same happend to "Smith" as well with Ray Liotta.

I agree they should not be showing them over here, unless it is a complete series.

ITV must have got Smith and Heist for peanuts. What broadcaster would bother with these incomplete series if they weren’t being offered at giveaway prices? With 4 channels to fill they’re clearly desperate for product to fill the hours and seemingly could care less about viewer satisfaction.

Very deceiving of ITV to not make clear at the outset that these series would not resolve in any way.

the annoying thing is, this was made very well and had good stories. as it required the viewer to watch and think, that's probably the reason it died. the US wants quick and easy shows, the same thing happened to Police Squad and Firefly, both which later became movies. it's shame this isn't on DVD, I missing it already, the acting was top notch and the cop double act was great.

I had taped it on Friday and looked forward to seeing it.
How can they end it like that? So guys pretend to kill Dougray Scott and NO Heist? They knew that Ricky was the mole but it is very frustrating, I am annoyed that I got into this too now. I guess we will never know........................

Same thing happened with 'Justice' and 'Medical investigation'. However they didn't have a running theme....

'Threshold' however was the same, in that the plot was left hanging....

I contacted ITV yesterday about Heist and this is their reply:

'Thank you for your email regarding transmission of Heist.

When ITV acquire US series our hope is that they will become successful in the UK . Our fortunes are always linked to what happens in the US , of course. If shows perform well in the US they achieve what is known as a “full season pick-up” of 22 to 24 episodes but if their performance is below par the series is cancelled. In the US the rate of cancellation is high so storylines are wrapped up but to differing levels of satisfaction to viewers.

Sadly, Heist was cancelled by NBC, so the storylines had to be wrapped up in a shorter number of episodes than had been originally envisaged. However, our Programme Planning department felt that the 6 available episodes would stand up on their own as a mini series and this is why they were scheduled.

We’re sorry to hear that the decision to screen the available episodes of Heist did not meet with your approval. Please be assured that your comments are valuable to us and will be taken into consideration when future programme planning decisions are made. Additionally, your comments have been registered at the ITV Duty Office and will be seen by senior managers throughout ITV.

Once again, thank you for taking the trouble to let us know your views.

Regards,

ITV Duty Office'

It's a waste of money if they don't show all their plays of it.

It fills a schedule hole after all...

I see that Heist is going to be shown again on early Sunday Mornings on ITV1 - Will the seventh get an airing?
