Beginning to get into this years show. There's a lot of good talent this time round.
Loving Simon as usual, especially when he said 'You're so vain' song was about him.

I am gutted about Alexandrea. I thought the song was great and that she sang like an angel. Could not understand Simon's comments at all - in fact all 3 were negative. Looks like what they have to say holds a lot of sway with the public.....
I really liked Alexandrea, i thought Kady and Amanda should have gone and Danny should have gone over Robbie.

You must be Though thanks for the laugh, the thought of Amanda impersonating Britney is hilarious I wasn't surprised at Alexandrea and Alaina going out this week. Alaina seemed quite shocked when her name was called but Alexandrea almost seemed to expect it.
Jason Y going out wasn't a shock either, particularly when it was just him and Danny left standing. It was highly unlikely to be Danny.
I can't say I was shocked about Robbie either. I have to agree with Simon that he is extremely unconvincing in his genre.
All in all though, I suppose I will have to carry on dreaming about David A going out any time soon.
I think one of the main reasons Robbie went was because of the attitude he showed to the judges. It's a shame as, although I didn't think he was brilliant, there were others much worse.
Who is getting fed up of the judges obvious bias towards David Archuletta. It is so clear they want him to win but I dont think he is as good as we are being told he is.

I thought Jason Y & Robbie would go. Thought it would be Alaina & Kady as they were the two weakest, for me.
'Hopelessly Devoted To You' is a boring song and while she sung it well it doesn't make you want to pick up the phone & vote.
Amanda was lucky to survive as it was a poor song choice. Something like 'Same Old Song & Dance' would have suited her really well.
How good was Carly Smithson?! I didn't even notice her last week but she's done what none of the others have done & found the perfect song. I hope she hasn't peaked too early, though.

I was really surprised at the results for the girls show. I thought Alaina and Alexandrea were two of the best! 
Well, saw the boys and girls today impressing in some places and unimpressive in others.
There are few things that was in my mind as I watched the programme. The band was not in tune and was overpowering for some of the contestants. In particular Syesha. She sounded too low.
The other thing that got me thinking. I do not think these contestants really choose what they sing. I believe they are chosen to show their flaws and set up for those who they want to eliminate: hopefully the right ones. Last night the girls that went were wrong. Also it serves the purpose of giving the judges a lot to critique and bad mouth about. If not they might as well not have a programme or an audience.
I made the mistake by choosing early favourites too soon in the competition. I will only comment on a few.I cannot rmember all the boys.
THE BOYS
David A: I was not on the pimping and love train. But he really sang well.
Jason C; Did ok. But I think he may be setting himself up to leave early. He is a star in the making.
David H, This was one of my favourite of the night. But I feel that he has not got what it takes to be a star.
Michael, I do not think he sang badly its just that something was amiss. I think it could go two ways. He will either become a phenomenon as the show goes on or will continue to be lack lustre.
Chikezie: He is my lover man. I do not think they get him. I enjoyed his performance the most. But I do not think the public would continue to vote for him either. I am pleased he finally explained what his beautiful name means. I think its disrespectful that most people in the West do not make the effort to pronounce foreign names correctly yet they expect them to pronounce their own. I think it is snobbish and arrogant. And yes Simon, am talking to you.
Danny: Loveable but I do not know if he is going improve. He could be a star but am not sure its singing.
Among this lot there is a star but I cannot quite see it yet. The right boys went.
THE GIRLS
Brooke: Yes she is lovely and she sang 'she's so vain' with poise and confidence. But this happy clappy world of Brooke unsettle's me. She may be loved by a lot of people but her syrup personality grates me slightly.
Ramiele: She can sing very well. But there is a problem she does not look like a star to me. She did ok.
A'siah; Lovely girl. Great smile and personality. She sings well. But the song did not suit her voice. I cannot quite see where she fits in musically. Yes she could be pop but she also has a husky voice which could suit light blues/rock. I hope she last long.
Amanda: I am slightly confused with her. One minute I think she is great the next she is not. I do not know whether the problem is in the voice or the whole persona. What are they doing to her? Yes she is a rocker but is it heavy or light? A star? Maybe. She may go soon.
Kady and Kristy I see as one. They have to separate themselves from the other. The other one that was similar was Alaina. I do not think she should have gone and I felt that she has much more potential than the others for 17.

I do not know who advised her to sing like this. I would not be surprise if she has a sudden exit. For me she is a star if she is nurtured right. I hope 80's night will be better for the girls but the boys did great.

I'm getting fed up with their obvious bias towards Carly Smithson. They have obviously decided they want her to win from the start

Are you serious? Neither Alexandrea or Alaina had anything more than average voices and neither should have been in the final 24.
Carly is outstanding in her ability, flexibility, versatility, range, register, interpretation and power.
The only ones who come close are Amanda for her distinctiveness, Brooke for her pure tone, Kady for her flexible vocals and Ramiele for her power and interpretation.

She picked a boring song, and while she sang it ok it doesn't inspire people to phone up and vote for her, unless they were already fans.
It's unfortunate, but thats the way these shows work.
