I was laughing my ass off on Saturday when Seamus' great news was announced. Seriously, hats off to the guy for having such faith in himself. I'm so pleased that the promised show materialised, he'll be great in Evita.

If you don't believe in yourself, you can't expect anyone else to. He'll be fantastic as Che

I have to thoroughly agree with you too Red. Should fit the part perfectly. This is my other all time favourite show. I shall watch the tour dates very closely. Haven't seen it (apart from the film) since Elaine Paige did the first run. Actually, we saw Stephanie Lawrence as we did a Saturday matinee. David Essex was Che back then, if I remember rightly. Time to introduce the family to a new version I think

Well done Seamus and the very best of luck. Hope it has a long run - especially down south please.

Nice to see you here MrsP I saw David Essex too, a very long time ago I'm going to Woking, not sure how near that is to you, probably nearer than it is to me Hopefully, there will be other dates added later

I hoping to get to Bristol - but I'm not even going to mention it to OH yet. I'll give him a few weeks/months to get over Joseph first

Hi Scarlet,

Totally agree that Seamus will be fab as Che. He will definitely be perfect in the part.

Hi Mrs P - I agree with your comments about the long run and their hopefully being dates down South as that will make it so much easier to get too. Fingers crossed, will have to keep looking out for dates etc.

Scarlet can you keep us updated on here if you hear anything - Thanks.

All gone abit quiet on Seamus's thread so thought I would just add a little note to wish everyone well that is reading it and to add my good luck wishes to Seamus for his role as Che - he will be sublime.

Just popped in to say that I'm off to see Evita on Saturday night at the Liverpool Empire. Have been listening to the cd all day so now I'm really looking forward to it! I'll try to post a review afterwards, but have a manically busy weekend, so it may be a few days late.

Best wishes to Seamus and the cast, hope it's going well.

Yippee, just noticed on ticketmaster that Evita is coming to Dublin from 15-27 September, even though it's not mentioned on Bill's site.

Looking forward to your review Rogue.

You must get tickets to see Evita, it was stunning!

I've had the most amazing night!!!!

Sarah, I have to disagree with you about not being able to listen to Seamus for a whole show, he was brilliant and very listenable to!

The set was superb and the cast were great! Watch out for James Waud, he went to the same Theatre School as Chris (a year behind) and plays Magaldi - his first professional part. Loved his voice, though the guitar miming wasn't entirely convincing! Saw him at the stage door afterward and he was lovely.

Seamus is 100% lovely, had to wait AGES at the stage door, but was chatting to another guy who had been to the same Drama school as Chris! Think his name was Tom Bennett. Seamus wanted to know whether we thought the show was OK - well, if you're reading this Seamus, you know we thought it was much, much better than OK!

Btw, he remembers you Scarlet!!!

Vegasvoss & Lesley, you are such a bad influence on me!!! Tom was pointing out all of the cast members and the musical director came out of the stage door at quite a speed, he's got a very impressive paragraph in the programme & I'd hoped to get his autograph so I yelled;
Oi you!!! Mr Musical Director guy!!!
He was really nice (David Steadman) and didn't seem at all phased!

The show was amazing and is a must go and see! Louisa Dearman who played Evita was brilliant! She showed all the emotions & had great stage presense. I'd also like to mention Nikki Mae who had a beautiful voice.

Btw Seamus hasn't looked at DS for years and didn't know he had an appreciation thread........he does now!

He's a little reluctant to log on in case there's bad stuff on it - I hope I've persuaded him, but in case I haven't, some of you guys may need to work on him!

Sounds fantastic Rogue, I can't wait to see the show myself!!

Just wondering (a slightly trivial question), what does Seamus do with that wonderful hair of his for the role?
