I can only draw a very vague comparison to what was probably the last UK tour (I was an usherette and saw the show every night during its run at the theatre I was working in!)

I thought it was great.
Seamus plays quite a cheeky Che I thought - he put quite a bit of humour in the part. His voice was very clear and diction spot on. (Hair was fab too - no need for a wig there!)
Louise Dearman was tiny! Fantastic stage prescence. The balcony scene was a s amazing as I hoped it would be.
Special mention form me for Mark Heenehan (Peron) - I thought he was great - it's hard to play such a weak character - but there was a real chemistry between the Perons.
Favourite set piece for me was "A New Argentina."
Glad you enjoyed it. Seamus is great

Hi everyone!
Haven't posted for a while but I am a massive fan of all the ADWD boys and am lucky enough to be able to say I have seen them all perform and met most of them too.

I saw Seamus in Evita in Manchester on Saturday and thought he was tremendous. He plays Che with a lovely quality - as someone else said, very cheeky in parts, very witty and also, incredibly believable as a disillusioned revolutionary. His voice is superb and I can't imagine anyne more suited to the role.

Sadly missed him at the SD - first time I've missed one of them completely - but saw Louise Dearman, who really is tiny! She was a stunning Evita - totally believable. She was Eva Peron for those two hours on Saturday night, for me. Her death scene was tremendous and I also loved I'd be Surprisingly Good for You.

Peron was wonderful in the latter - I can't remember the actor's name and the Opera House had sold out of programmes so can't look it up. But he summed Peron up wonderfully, magnified the flaws and weaknesses whilst still giving the audience belief in what he was doing. A wonderful job all round, and I cannot wait to see Seamus in something else very soon.
Do go and see Evita if you get chance, you won't be disappointed.

Saw Evita yesterday and just loved it Seamus was just fantastic, played Che with a real glint in his eye, his diction was perfect and singing voice fatastic Louise Dearman was a superb Eva, terrific vocally, and her Don't cry for me was just magnificent Must also give a mention to Nikki Mae, as the mistress, a beautiful voice and the best rendition of Another suitcase that I've ever heard All the cast were just perfect, and the little girl who sang the solo was an amazing talent for her age

Thoroughly enjoyed the show, depsite sheeting rain that didn't abate the entire day so would urge anyone to give this production a try, you won't regret it

Not this time It was sheeting down, and had met Seamus at the Palladium, so didn't stay. That means I must see it again, of course

Just in from seeing Evita and off out to work in a min so will keep this short, it was fantastic! Seamus was wonderful no other word for it, as were the rest of the cast, really hope I can see it again before the tour finishes.

Have anyone checked out Bill Kenrights site and the Evita part of that, it has music and a visual effect opening page so much more interesting than the normal pages on his site.

I went to see Evita yesterday for my birthday I thought the whole show was just amazing from the scenery and costumes to everyone's individual performances and the atmosphere was captured perfectly at all the key scenes. Seamus looked like he was born to play that part and yes, like others have said, he did bring a cheeky side to the character

So if you're thinking about going, I would highly recommend it!!!

This is the photo I took of my daughter and Seamus when we went to see him in Evita.

Seamus was really sweet and stood and chatted even though it was a cold wet night.

Just resurrecting this thread to say I saw Evita on Monday ( for the 3rd time, albeit over 30 years!!)

Seamus was absolutely amazing, and I thought the whole production was pure class. Not usually the case in a provincial theatre. I'd completely forgotten he'd been in "Any Dream Will Do" but his voice was superb, acting excellent and he stole the show. Quite a feat when the first Che I saw was the lovely David Essex.
I am now definitely a fan.

Absolutely, and it's touring till at least Oct 09, so plenty of chances to see Seamus. I'd go again tomorrow if it wasn't nigh on a 200 mile round trip to Plymouth.

The bit I've highlighted was th only slight criticism I had. We had the 2nd choice for Evita, I cant remember her name, and she was a teensy bit screechy in the upper register. But the girl who sang "Another Suitcase" was phenomenal as was Peron.

What amazes me is that in the 31 years since I first saw it it was even better than I remember. Thanks in no small part to the lovely Seamus.
