Wanted! BT Annonymous caller Rejection Audio
Hi, this is a strange request, but is there anywhere I can get an audio copy of the message that you hear when you call someone on BT that is not accepting withheld numbers?
I have a genuine reason for needing it rather than just for anorak value. Does BT have a number that you can call to listen to such announcements? Many years ago they used to have a number you call to hear all sorts of tones and descriptions of what they were. Or, if someone happens to have an MP3 copy of it, please PM me. Many thanks Andy |

The best idea is to find a phone number that when rung will play this message after dialling from a witheld phone.
My suggestion is to phone the number with the message from a Sony Ericsson K750i or another SE phone that allows you to record a two way conversation. The format for the audio will be in the .amr format I think but it should be clear enough I guess. You can convert this to MP3 using SUPER Audio & Video encoder. This is freeware you can download from www.erightsoft.com. This does work by the way and might be the best way to get the audio for yourself without having to rely on someone else to supply you with it. I hope this helps. |

Many thanks for the reply. I have access to a recording studio, so if I knew a number that had this message on it, I could easily capture the audio! Unfortunately I don't know anyone that has the service on their line.

You could try phoning an escort's phone number, that might work, as they don't accept witheld phone numbers, LOL
. Just a thought! Though I think they probably only use mobile phone numbers to make and receive calls so maybe not such a good idea.Don't really have any other ideas, sorry. I did know of someone local to me that had this service on their line. Only ever heard the message once myself. Didn't know that it existed before that to be honest. I don't think it's that common though. |
