DECT phone system with analogue capabilities?
Hi, not quite mobile phones, but related....
I'm looking to buy a DECT phone system for my house. Got to be multiple handset (3 or 4) but most importantly, it's got to have some way of connecting an existing analogue phone lead. This can be through an additonal DECT adapter or straight into the base of one of the satellite phone stations but it's just gotta be there so I can plug the lead of my Netgem iPlayer into it. Anybody know of a reasonably priced system that will let me do this? Big A |

Try splitting the line, one for the iPlayer, and one for the DECT base station?

That's the trouble.
The iPlayer is in the lounge where strangely, the previous occupants of the house didn't install a telephone point. I can run a VERY long extension cable around my room from the nearest BT socket in the hallway or, preferably, link the iPlayer in wirelessly to my new DECT system. Any ideas? Big A |

BT used to do a DECT-based modem for laptops, so you could take them into the garden. Dunno where you would find it now though.
Oh, it's on the BT shop page here |

That's close but not quite it. The iPlayer has a built in modem.
I just need a little adapter that will allow the telephone cord of the iPlayer to communicate with the DECT stations. You can forget about it being an iPlayer. Just view it as a standard analogue phone. All I'm looking for really is a DECT station with an analogue port. Big A |

Yeah, I heard of that one. About £90.
Ideally I'd like something that would integrate with a new DECT system at low additional cost. Big A |

Siemens do a wireless DECT telephone socket which would do what your require but I'm not sure if it is available in the UK and I doubt it would be low cost.
Gigaset 1000TAE socket http://www.my-siemens.com Regarding the Thomson suggestion, Satcure do it for about £60 search their site for: T/WIRE |

Thanks
I'll search for the Siemens solution to see if they still do it. Where do I find the Satcure site? I've googled and come up with satcure.co.uk satcure.com satcure-focus.com but none of them seem to exist. What's up? Big A |

Or try Maplins, would be cheaper than Satcure who add VAT and P&P, Maplins P&P is free over £30, sorry Martin.
Maplin code: A54AT @ £69.99 |

DECT advise please
Hi
Please forgive me if this is posted in the wrong place....... I bought a BT On-Air 1250 classic from eBay and it is causing quite a problems. Plug it in by itself and it works. Plug in anything else with a multi socket and the integrated answering machine picks up and won't take a message! I understand about REN=1 ect. I do not have ADSL and all my other phones, modems ect function correctly. I would be very gratefull if someone could catagorically say that it is the phone here so that I could just get another one but I wonder if this may be something to do with analogue lines and digital phones. Maybe an ADSL filter would help? Maybe I need help )
