try going into messages then options then select settings then select text message and if the "Receive Report" option says Yes, then just switch it off

hopefully that works

There is only the one report, the Receive Report, so I'm not sure what you mean by "all reports are off". Can you explain as it might help sorting out your problem.

Can you also explain what the message sent report is? What is displayed on the screen?

after i send the text the report comes back as saying "Message......
Your balance is..... then the amount of credit i have left.. think ive sussed it..
It was in general personalise profile, in the message setting the reports were off but the warning tones were on and the alert for all calls, ive just switched them off, and fingers crossed, it hasnt done it yet as i sent a message to myself from another phone, (sad i know) Thanks for your help guys. i happy gal.

Thats O2, you have to phone them up and get them to switch it off .. it has nothing to do with the the phone. It only sends the message when you use some credit (ie send a message/make a call), so sending to your phone from another phone will not be a good test.

I think you are confused. The "alert for all calls" is what will happen when someone rings. The "warning tone" is what happens when an error occurs.

The balance message is definitely from O2.

ok, but all i can say is that its not happening since i turned them off. Maybe they might start up again so if they do ill ring o2, but like i said so far so good. Thanks again, much appreciated.

i agree having had a nokia n80 and several nokias since, the alert for calls is for the ringing of the phone.
The message sent and balance alert are an o2 payg feature and cant be turned off on some phones its less annoying than others, its useful to see your balance, but o2 should offer an option to turn it off as far as i know there isnt that option.
I recomment you try phoning yourself with a withheld number and see if your phone rings now that you have changed the settings in the profiles im fairly sure it wont but willing to be proved wrong
