Why is this getting such bad ratings?

Lowest rated series ever by a bb8uk sized margin

Well the Tuesday and Wednesday episodes never stood a chance up against the ratings grabber which is American Idol.

But I think this couples theme has put a lot of hardcore BBUSA fans off, it's not the same as what BBUSA is usually about, there is no proper game play, it's focused more on trashy, unlikable people hooking up.

I have friends in America who are bb fans and fans of reality tv in general and they are really disliking this series.
Its no shock though is it,the couples idea is terrible and ruining what most people like about this game.

The couples twist, a fairly unlikeable/uncompelling bunch of housemates, being so close to the summer series, up against Idol.. I'll be surprised if this series goes the distance to be honest.

It may be because people think it is as dull as a prisoners spoon.

It's not dull, stuff is always happening I have to admit that, but it's stuff that isn't usually what BBUSA is all about. For a matter of fact it reminds me of more recent BBUK's, which is not a good thing and not what I watch BBUSA for. I want more Game Play!

There are a number of reasons:
1. Up against American Idol, which is targeted at the same demographic.
2. There is a season upon season decline anyway.
3. Some hardcore fans aren't watching because of the format change.
4. Some are confused by the scheduling change.
5. Some think it's a short season and are waiting for the full thing in summer.

I have never seen it before now, I watched the opening 2 programmes and it was sooo different from UK BB its more like watching a scripted series, all the reality seems to be squeezed from it.

Also the couples twist really put me off, because you may like one person who turns out to be with someone who goes and you have no indication who this could be as there is no lead up.

The show just seems to skip from scene to scene, it makes no sense and its boring. There is nothing for the watcher to work out for themselves, not a lot of guessing involved.

In the UK BB the each watcher can possibly see the same programme very differently and get different things from it depending on their perspective, all of that flexibility seems to have been rinsed from USA BB.

As you may be able to tell I am not impressed! Saying that I did watch the catch up 3 shows at the weekend, thereby negating all of the above I suppose!!

I have always thought you really need to have the live streaming to really understand and appreciate the American BB. The episodes miss so much, as they only have 3 per week and things change in the house, not only day by day, but can change from hour to hour.
