Harmony Remore sequences for Humax
sdesign
27-02-2008
I have a Harmony Remote that allows you to set a pre-defined sequence of events to any button.

The only sequence I have set up is to select play on the humax at the same time as record on my DVD recorder.

Other than this I can't really think of any other uses for this feature as far as the Humax is concerned, so I wondered if anyone else had set up any sequences for the Humax that they would like to share here?

I have the harmony 785 and cant think of any other sequences to set up either, have you got all the functions set up under device for the hummy. I had to remap some buttons such as "advert skip" onto the customise buttons screen, Also the fast forward/back needed fiddling with.

Have you figured out how to put a sequence onto those 2 arrow buttons just below the screen?

I have the Hummy set up as a device, and then I have watch TV set up as an activity which automatically switches on the TV and hummy and sets to correct EXT etc.

Took hours to setup but now I'm quite happy. Just trying to find more uses for the sequences

I have the 655 which doesn't have those arrow buttons but afaik you should be able to map anything to any button.

I have the 525, and AFAIK, you can not remap control buttons, like the mentioned arrow keys.

Good examples of unremappable (?) control buttons are: power off, glow, and of course the two arrows keys to flip from screen to screen!

One sequence I've programmed (to an LCD button on my 555) is 'Guide - Yellow' to bring up the recording schedule.

I've not really found any cause for any others as all the functions I need already have a discrete button.

Incidentally, you might be interested to learn that '0' essentially acts as a 'Discrete On' code on the Hummy - always handy with status-tracking remotes to ensure things are kept in sync. You could use any channel number but one of the key requirements for bastardising a discrete function from an existing one is that it has no other effects - pressing channel '0' just brings up the small channel box for a few seconds so I regard it as passing this test (i.e. it doesn't change the channel if the Hummy is actually already on).

No 'discrete off' unfortunately (other than the 'poor mans' version of 0 - PowerToggle).... unless you know of one?

I have only just got the hummy and i have just bought the harmony 555 as well

as im used to a tivo that asks if you want to delete a program after you have watched it. I thought i would add this sequence to the prev key on my harmony
i used stop-playlist-red
only problem so far is that nothing at all happens when i press prev - so i must be doing something wrong but i think this sequence will be usefull when i get it working

No need to stop before deletion anymore.

Ah, excellent. Thanks for that Steve!

Presumably that code is in a suitable format to e-mail to Logitech for inclusion into the database (or added to my account at the very least)?

Thanks again,

Mathew

Just to follow-up on this I sent the hex code to Logitech and they added it to my account - all working nicely so thanks again for that.

I'm not sure whether the function is now in the general database for the 9200 - perhaps it'll ripple through in due course (or not at all... I don't know how their database gets updated other than it is customer driven to a certain extent).
