In this age of healthy eating do you grill your food or do you still fry ?

I hate it when hubby says oh we're having a fry up !!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....I have grilled for the past umpteen years...it really bugs me that does !!

Oh! I grill, not fry. lol its much heathlier that way. If people miss a fry up whilst on a diet or just to be healthy, they can have 'grill up'

I grill most things, apart from egg, although very occassonally, I fry a nice fat juicy steak in butter. Lovely but about a twice a year treat for me.

I only ever fry steak as it's much better than grilled. Sausages and Bacon go on the George Formby.

Both?

It is not illegal to fry food? I have a fry up on Sunday, with the papers and the Archers. Oh course, we only use olive oil.

I rarely grill though, I hate the way it drys out the meat.

Yep, you can not grill black pudding.

I grill hardly a thing - fish occasionally, and I'm teeny tiny.

Depends on what I am cooking, I do both, and I'm tiny as well.

I've always grilled sausage and bacon, even as a teenager. I never liked food swimming in grease, which is part of the reason I don't like fried eggs.

I used to do a 'grill up' until my husband complained saying to wasnt the same.

So now, once a month i do a mammoth fry up. Its lovely.

I fry what i can. or throw it in the oven. The only time i use the grill is making cheese on toast.

After 4 years without a deep fat fryer, finally got one, and chips are a lot better than oven chips

I grill or oven most foods. Sausages don't need frying in my op as they cook beautifully in their own juices in the oven. Bacon is also the same if you fry it, no need for oil. I only really fry eggs, and we don't have fried eggs very often. I do a stir fry though, I use extra virgin olive oil for that when we have one.

Pretty good actually, low blood pressure, et al.

Walk 8 miles a day and weigh 8 stone.

How are yours?

It's a real conundrum for me. I do both. I recognise that it's healthier to grill, particularly with sausages as you can see all that saturated fat dripped out of the sausages in the pan after cooking. At the same time, I find it hard to resist the juiciness and better flavour of frying things like steak.

My frying pan only ever has egg in it, actually sometimes I cook eggy bread in it too.

Im getting a egg poacher soon so wont be using it to fry eggs anymore either.

I hate fried food, as a kid everything was fried, either shallow or deep, even had fried baked beans as a child.

I practice molecular gastronomy by putting my food under a thermoelectric device. I then apply enough electric current to heat the food, until it is cooked homogeneously.
