I've been with 3 from the start - yes when coverage was dodgy and all that went with it.

I have for the last week pushed and pushed them for a renewal without a new handset.

They just won't have it, getting offered 2610i, 6288 & 6120 400mins, 250 text, 25 picture, 25 video, £5.00 download etc for £25 a month.

Seems sound yes - BUT I DON'T WANT A PHONE!!!

I want more minutes and texts for less money.

Took them to the brink and ordered the PAC code - still didn't back down, any help with these bastards would be appreciated.

Their retentions are well known in the industry for lacking, so you may just be banging your head against a brick wall.

Would seem very, very strange if they wouldn't let you keep your old handset though. That's an Retention agents dream!

I have been with three for 3 years and getting good deals from them.

300 mins, 100 txts, £5 worth of download for only £5 a month.

Why dont you sign up as new customer and get 1100 mins for £21??

Trifle harsh, perhaps?

Anyway, have you had a look at the Sim free offers on other networks? They seem to offer some excellent deals for people who don't want a new handset.

O2 offer 600mins & 1000 texts for the SAME (not less, mind) £25 you pay now

Again, for £25 on Orange you'll get 700mins and Unlimited Texts

£20 on T-Mobile gets you 400 mins and unlimited texts

Vodafone also offer SIM only plans, but they're simply not as good at the above.

With o2 you also get to choose a free bundle... which could be an extra 200 min, or unlimited texts etc etc
