I hope no-one will mind my making a thread dedicated to vegan foods and drinks only! (Although obviously not just for vegans!)

I thought it might be helpful to let others know about special offers we come across while shopping - Lord knows it's hard enough to find certain products at the best of times, so it certainly makes sense to stock up a bit when something you've actually been able to find is also on special offer!

I'll start off with the following from Waitrose today (don't know when the offers end though!)

Alpro Soya Milk (chilled, and including the Chocolate flavour ) Buy 2, save £1

Alpro Peach Soya Yogurt (4x125g) Buy 2 for £2.

Good idea for a thread.

Just to expand on the Alpro offer, Tesco are also doing 2 for £2 on Alpro yoghurts.

Sainsbury's have Cauldron Tofu, both Original and the Marinated Pieces, on 4 for 3 (cheapest item free).

They also have Hot Cross Buns - 'Be Good To Yourself' and Standard (pack of 6) at 2 for £1.40 ()

Tut! I should have gone to Waitrose

Thanks, Kacey - hope the offer lasts to next weekend so I can stock up

Sainsbury's have put all the veggie chilled products (including the entire Quorn & Cauldron chilled range) on 4 for the price of 3 and you can of course mix'n'match. Also includes all veggie ready meals.
Best of all looks like its running as a permanent offer until further notice not the usual 3 week duration.

Thanks for pointing that out, First. Yes, I should have mentioned that there were other products included in the 4 for 3 offer, but many/most of them are not suitable for vegans (Quorn, for instance, contains egg white), and I didn't have time to check the ingredients on the other veggie things, although some of them may indeed be suitable, so thank you!

Why, thank you! ^ I love sprouts! But I noticed their normal priced ones were only 68p for 500g if you don't mind peeling your own!

The Sainsbury's hot cross buns I mentioned the other day are now 2 packs for £1 according to the website! They are marked Vegan, BTW. Also, their Vegetable Samosas (pack of 4) are on 4 for 3.

This isn't an offer, but should still be of interest.

I was in Sainsburys earlier and noticed they have started to stock a new range of vegetarian/vegan ready meals by Amy's Kitchen (www.amys.com), who seem to be American-based. From their website, Amy's seem to offer a huge range of products. In Sainsbury's I noticed they had two different types of Indian Paneer (neither vegan unfortunately). However they also have some Mexican Enchiladas (Top of this list - http://www.amys.com/products/categor...rod_category=9) for £1.59, that clearly state they are suitable for vegans. I haven't tried them yet, but they look really nice. Although Amy's aren't an exclusively vegan supplier, it's nice to know that there are more suppliers out there, producing some vegan products.

Oooh that's great news! I'll probably shop at Sainsbury's this weekend so I'll look out for them. I'd heard of Amy's but I don't think I've tried any of their products so far. Those enchiladas do look good, I look forward to trying some. Thanks, Unknown.

I know Amy's Kitchen well, our friends buy those products a lot and say how good they are.

I am very pleased. I've been Vegetarian for 20 years and Vegan for a couple and certainly vegan appears to be what vegetarian was about 20 years ago. I'm glad that vegan foods are rightly beginning to appear on the shelves.

I wonder .............. just as you get 'pretend' vegetarians who eat fish and seem to think they're still vegetarian, if we'll see an emergence of vegetarians who will call themselves vegans because they don't eat cheese, but have cow's milk on their cereal and tea?

Well, my nephew *doesn't* know a vegan who eats honey! He thought he did though...

Is that like a milkshake?

Yes, very much so. Quite thick and creamy tasting too, and spot on with the chocolatey-ness. I'm hooked on the stuff, me - just ordered twelve cartons!

Well of course I was practically forced to stock up at that price!!! It will last me ages though, I rarely allow myself more than a litre in a week, although I could quite easily get through one a day...

This isn't an offer, more of a general wondering. I was in Sainsbury's earlier, and was looking at the Cauldron marinated tofu. It used to sell for around £1.87 a pack. I noticed today that it had gone up to £2.05 a pack. Now I know we're constantly being told the cost of food is going up, but I thought that over £2.00 a pack was just too expensive. Has anyone noticed it go up in others shops, or is it just Sainsbury's?

I prefer Alpro to So Good so for me it's a 'yes'.

I have just checked Tesco and they are also selling it for 2.05. That is expensive.
